Now I know that EfU like doing there own things. But I am unsure, do you guys use the DMFI tools? I've seen it mentioned in the emotes menu? And if you do, what is your view of the language widgets? I personally think that they allow for a really interesting depth of RP. Are there any plans to implement it? Or something like it?
Languages
Cluckyx Are there any plans to implement it? Or something like it?Wouldn't bet on it.
And welcome aboard. :)
if we're already speaking of the subject, i've seen once a methed to use an npc, whenever one in the area wishes to speak a language (one is enough per area, and can be killed), the npc listens to you and translates to those around. the translation goes to the log, while what you said gets blurred (by a method, saynig twice same word, shows same blurr of word)
We've decided against implementing languages.
Perhaps I've missed it and it has been mentioned, but most people RP the languages they know. An "(e)" before a line of dialog indicates elven being spoken, and so on. If you are not a meta-gamer, you will respect the fact that sometimes you don't understand what another character is saying, regardless if the are planning to kill you or not.

Our current policy is clearly stated in the thread linked to above:
Mr. Cheez-It For clarification, until a language script is put in place, consider all dialog to be in Common. The use of languages other than Common for personal enjoyment is not prohibited on the server. However, players should be aware other players are not forced to recognize any language other than Common.
Ah. Excellent to know. Thanks Arkov!
