So yea...what do the DM's want from the Playerbase?
What do the DM's want from us?
This is actually a question I'd really would like and appreciate seeing some answers from the DMs. I had a lot of fun with my last character, thought she really got involved and stuff, but I did have this slightly nagging feeling that I was still missing something.
Be strong, Ninelives.
Be strong.
For you to ;
I think he's looking for more specific answers from -All- the DMs.
I mostly like PCs who want to investigate the mysteries and background of the server. We've a rich canvas to draw from, and people rarely give much attention to it beyond: "Upper rules!" or "Lower is the best let's destroy Upper.", or even worse <CLASS> of <DEITY>. Whilst these characters are not inherently bad, I have a great appetite for PCs who wish to discover the secrets of the server and/or take attention to the facets of our history and base a character around them.
Just read the thread Cruzel linked above. Pretty much covers what I am looking for.
Patience, a relaxed attitude towards the game, a sense of humour, and willingness to play by the (pvp) rules.
And FFS, no internet memes. Not even ironically. Ever.
Howland's spoken for the team a great number of times in several stickied threads. If you believe your personal play style is still lacking after reading the advice he's listed, feel free to speak with a DM privately to ask what you could be doing. I'm going to be deleting the clutter and inane posts in this thread to hopefully help out the newer players that have been trickling in the past few days.
I think it would be awesome if every player took a moment to recap on the points Howland made in these posts:
The short version, is to do the best you can, and be nice to yourself, your fellow players, and the DMs.
I don't like the idea that the players are playing specifically to appease me or any other DM, but that they're playing well and playing solidly for their own enjoyment and the enjoyment of others. Basically what Howland just said above.
As cheesy as it sounds, what has been said is really all that we expect.
