Hello and Tracking

Hi, new guy here, not even a toon yet. Sounds like a really interesting server. Not sure what my angle will be. To escape, to explore, to stay behind and help others escape? To be torn?

I am cursed to play a ranger, a dex one, maybe even with 14 wis. I might learn my lesson and so str based. To this end, I'm glad I can play with tracking here. Tell me more about it. What does it do? Do I get experience for using it? How does it work? What skills are involved? Don't want to make a crappy tracker.

How are traps in EfU? Maybe it's worth making a trapper.

Welcome to EfU. There are a lot of angles to play. Thus far, nobody has escaped, and many would rather start a new life and make the best of it than to try. All depends on the character. The variety of goals within the player population is staggering.

You can track using our modified Talus listener commands, simply typing in the tracking command. (I'd have to look up what it is, since I haven't had a ranger personally.) I also believe it can be accessed from the tracking menu, but I'm not 100%. Tracking will basically tell you information about what is in the area. To quote Arkov on what skills were needed, although the quote is from November, "At the moment, it's (roughly) a combination of Spot, Search, and Listen, with a small bonus for Lore dependent on your Ranger levels. More info later."

Traps are a sticky situation. They are bugged in NWN in general, so we really look down upon them in a lot of situations. For example, they are impossible to counter in Player vs Player situations. Once the next patch comes out and gives us some better trap handling functions, we hope this situation will improve.

Tracking is accessed either through the crafting menu or "/o c track"

Welcome, and good luck!
