If you've always wanted to make an elf but didn't because you lacked a community of like-minded people to thrive with, then now is the perfect time to roll one up or dig out that old concept you put on hiatus.

This isn't just your typical 'team elf' concept that's going to wander aimlessly around Sanctuary being mourning and passive and elfy -- it's a concept deeply ingrained in the culture of the race that is going to strive to uphold some of the rawer elements of elven culture that might have been overlooked in the past. Eschewing Sanctuary for a strictly nature-bound experience dedicated to rebuilding elven society to its previously astounding heights, these elves are the kind that epitomize what made the race thrive before the death of their pantheon: a ferocious dedication to the perseverance of their people, xenophobic tendencies that make them cautious and sometimes outright violent towards outsiders, and an imperious demeanor that supports their centuries of of prominence since the very birth of the world.

Any elf is welcome in their midst -- this is as much about the struggle to survive and work with differing minds and contrasting opinions as it is creating a place for immersive, passionate elven concepts to thrive and influence the server outside of Sanctuary. Ideally, this is a place for non-Lawful concepts as there is an emphasis on casting away from civilized society and embracing a wilder, more raw existence beside nature. As such, this is definitely not a concept suited for Paladins, and probably not ideal for Monks, either.

As a note, this is likely going to be very PvP heavy, but the focus is not solely on such.

Concepts new and old are both encouraged. Have an old elf that you abandoned for whatever reason? Bring him or her back and get into the thick of things.

This also isn't a strictly elven concept! If you're not an elf, there is room for those individuals who have a wilding bend and wish to take part in cooperative efforts across the server.

A few potential concepts if you need inspiration:

  • A wizard accustomed to decadence who (comically?) struggles to adapt to a more savage life than she's accustomed to.

  • A cleric of Shevarash that hopes to undermine the restorative efforts of the group, instead desiring to direct them towards revenge against all humans.

  • A former revolutionary who tires of his existence in Lower and seeks to find new meaning in renewing the strength of the elves in the wilds.

  • A member of one of the less worthy races (read: human, gnome, halfling, etc) who wishes to make a name for himself as a tribe leader, and uses the elves to gain prominence.

  • A commander rogue who has experience aiding the rebellions against the Dread above, and wishes to put his expertise to work in building a kingdom of survivors below ground.

etc. etc. etc.

You can PM me (Fitzwilliam) on IRC if you'd like to discuss concepts -- or you can ask questions, make comments, voice concerns, etc. here!

Or just find me IG at The Hidden Pond.

AROUND ELVES, WATCH YOURSELVES

Elves are not fruity humans with pointy ears. This is a good group. Embrace it. I would if I only had THE TIMMMEE AGHH

Well I have a moon elf sticking on the bench till my current one dies. I'll keep an eye on this and join it when the time comes :)

I'm generally of the opinion that Elves suck on EFU, but that's not because of the race itself. I actually think it has massive potential to be extremely cool, if the Elven characters are played as a properly nigh-alien and mysterious race with origins in another dimension entirely. Don't play a human with pointy-ears and you've got my thumbs up.

I hope this concept can redeem the race.

Elves are cool. Very cool! Sadly I have a concept already together but I hope the best for this one!

Yesterday we:

  • Unwittingly created the plot of a B horror movie crossover
  • Followed an angry gray render several miles through the Underdark
  • Almost died. Oops?
  • Summoned a vegepygmie queen as a concubine
  • Might have maybe possibly but probably not committed infanticide

But we absolutely still need more elves! Jump on the bandwagon; this is tons of fun.
