You're Welcome Blue41, I'm finally ded.

Well its done! (S)He has gone to the great Lanceboard in the sky. Matagar has to have been my longest living character, nearing almost 7+ months of playing. Pretty good I'd say from reading a sentence long blurb in a bargain book I found while at the beach. He was heavily inspired by Bishop Goslin of Paris, the First Fighting Bishop who defended the city against Vikings in 885. Matagirl got to do a lot of things in his time, from reaching the heady rank of Specialist, Messing with Gender Roles, Traveling the Planes and a bunch of other stuff! He even had his own comic! AND I FINALLY MADE IT TO 8! *TWICE* While the last month or so had been a bit tough, all in all the character has been a lot of fun, and it was a great time interacting with the while server as Matagar. I dont know how often I'll be around in the coming months but until then, you keep on keeping on EfU!

Big Special Thanks to a few people in particular, Cmenden, AllMyBudgies, Wiggyboy, Caster and Howland for putting up with me and my antics

And of course Cap, Redhat, Tala, Moonlighter, Jaenas and all the Aux folks through the months.

So, now that I've gotten that out of the way... Screenies!

Errant Bishop Matagar Reinault, Son of Genthrin Reinault. Landed Gentry and Knight within the service Baron Tumwalt Horn-Shield.

Service of Page: Five Summers of said Father, Genthrin Reinault.

Squiredom: Nill, instead, served within the armed forces in the regiment of foot, fighting under Sir Regthin of Darromar, before joining the Squire Adepts of the Church of Her Most Holy Strategy, or more commonly Known, as the Red Knight. Roughly a dozen Summers.

Period of Errant: Served as an Adept and Errant under Bishop Nolgiz, His Holiest, Who fought with the Order of the Red Falcon. During the Dark Days after the Rise of the now Known Dread Empire, was elevated to Errant Bishop for service and combat losses. Served Bishop Nolgiz until the End of His Holy Days. After the breakdown of command and the eventual rout, was rescued by a portal sent from the Warding Order of the Reformed Spellguard.

Armed Skills: Trained within all weapons of foot, ranging from polearms, to hammers, to longblades. Specialized within Her holy Weapon the Longsword. Unable to partake in the use of ranged weaponry due to a personal religious vow, though trained in such.

From the massed regiments of foot, skilled within holding off multiple enemies at once with the use of shield, though require utmost concentration and inability to use even the most simplest of vials or incantation in such a combat stance.

Skills of Strategy: Trained within the Small Unit and Massed Combat as required of all Adept Squires of the Holy Strategist. Blessed with the foresight granted to her servants in the form of many minor enchantments, with proper preparation the ability to pass this foresight and forethought onto another warrior, granted they provide a willing supplication to Her Orders.

Former Test of Arms:

The Sack of Fegilthin's Mill.
Skirmishing with raiders and brigands upon the Trade Way.
The Flamerule Uprising.
The Siege of Darromar.

I spent a lot of time Forum warrioring, so Matagar like the rigid code bound warrior he was, kept a list of his credentials throughout his career as well as making a full file with every single Aux/Agent Combat potential. Despite threats, he never was punished for his honesty about Gwen...

[hide="The Start"]
Matagirl has a pretty rough start, accidentally firing off an anti cheat script, getting trapped behind fences, and all that fun stuff. Right off the start he got himself sent to Hell for a Merchants Bargain, An anicent Drow Tomb for the Society of the Ordered Mind, and he played dressup as a Purple Dragon. I had that shield for FAR too long.

(Go 4th level GO!)

[hide="An Auxward Time"]
Matagar was recruited rather quickly into the Auxiliary, nearly two weeks or so after creation, seduced by the tale of a Shrine to the Red Knight. It was there he met his personal hero Specialist Naeros. Naeros was an inspiring figure to Matagar, who wished nothing more but to serve as a pawn. It was by Naeros's example that Matagar preserved and stuck with the faction despite all their dishonorable methods.

[hide="The Rosethorn Campaign"]
The Rosethorn campaign was one of the pivotal events in Matagars development, not to mention the biggest and deadliest. He got to experience firsthand the cowardness of adventurers, the great loss of battle, and the fatal determination that ended up being his downfall. Despite the best efforts of one "GOLDEN DOUBLOONS WIZARD" Matagar managed to survive to the very end of the First siege, only falling seconds before the Rosethorn Captain did. He stabilized twice and managed to crawl his way out of the carnage of the first charge into the Temple proper, to be blasted down, stabilize again, and regroup outside. He was the last fighter we had and managed to spearpoint his way into the Throne room, AGAIN survive the fighting retreat and then the running battle back to Shores of the Dark Lake. It was a heart pumping, exhausting and probably one of, if not -THE- best experiences I've had on EfU this Chapter. I could go on and on about how amazing the event was but the screenies will need to speak for themselves. (Oh gawd did I love all those cool mercs)

The Second Siege was Matagar finally being able to set his comrades and brother in Faith's soul to rest (at least in his own mind) By finally seeing the Temple fall. I wish I had the balls to have done something suicidal as I had planned, such as diving at Vera or something, but I doubt she even knew who He was, especially after the changes she's undertook. Too afraid of screwing with Casters story is the excuse I'm gonna use. It was fun to see the thorn in his side, the Rosethorn scout, pop up again though! She was so damn -FAST-

[hide="Its MataMAN not MATAGIRL"]
I hate you AllMyBudgies. I hate you and Cmenden so much. All it takes is ONE little attempted cleansing of a Cyrist Shrine and its followers and this is how you punish poor Matagirl. Yes, Matagar was turned into a girl, ha ha. Very funny. In all seriousness though, I did my very best play on the duality of the curse to its fullest. I took it a little further then perhaps AMB intended but I had to do it for my own sanity. Instead of just the physical changes, I had mental changes done to Matagar as well. For all intents and purposes there was two Matagars, the real Errant Bishop and the ditzy, flirty, girl woman who's body he inhabited. Its why when angry, or scared or any sort of slip in control (s)he'd begin to brush back a strand of hair or roll her eyes, or giggle. Biggest regret is being unable to try and revert the curse again, but RL does that to ya! In the end, I hope He's back to being a He...

[hide="Winter Special for Specialist"]
Matagar tried a LOT of things to get back to normal. Probably the dumbest was asking a boon from the fey for a bit of aid. All he wanted was an answer on -how- to fix the Curse. They decide to help a bit further while actually being no help at all. Still, Killed the Troll King!

[/hide]

[hide="Rituals Gone Wrong"]
His other most fervent desire, other then returning himself to normal, was to contact the Outer Plans. But nothing as unpredictable or vile as the Heavens or the Abyss, no, he wanted to make a pact with MECHANUS. My not so secret desire was to find Modrons. The ritual did not go -exactly- as planned however. I did almost manage a TPK though. So, not pictured, because I was too busy trying not to be pummeled by Axioms of Obliteration.

[/hide]

[hide="The Last Days of Aux-Life"]
Eventually things started getting out of hand, and Matagar found himself on the wrong side of nearly every faction and group. He was kicked out of the Aux and Stripped of his title after being nothing but a real pain in the ass...oh, and killing Sabra that one time. That may have factored in. He spent a lot of his last few days bleeding or being beaten. He refused to ever apologize for any of his actions, because he was a stubborn asshole.

[hide="Misc"]

These are a bunch of random things, from actually riding a horse and being a Knight, to EASTERN STEEL. Also talking about Butts.

[hide="Greatest Achievement Ever"]
That most frigid elf ever had a total crush for ol' Matagar before he switched genders. He was a love machine. Vroom Vroom.

These were a LOT of fun to do, even if perhaps they didnt quite fit Matagars character... still, I'd love to do a lot more.

Faux News

You should have taken that bodyguard job.

Good times, BTH!

Advice Kid

Absolutely fantastic! Auxie is the best.

Blue41

You are to be commended for not only enduring but playing out the symptoms of your curse with grace and style, where others might have decided to call it quits. You did well, and I'm sorry that handing over that lance opened you up to so many manhood entendres...good job BTH.

SeriesXII

Matagirl! I did not get to know Matagar due to our different play times but it must have been an adventure!

el groso

The balls of iron on that one (Guy Or girl?) when storming in the Cathedral of Ascension impressed me.

PanamaLane

Awesome times. Matagar was a true survivor!

Kinslayer988

Rip Matagirl! A true most enjoyable man/woman. Alas! Play times are a struggle!

I'm sad and sorry I've missed out on the final few months.
I always enjoyed Matagar, in case you hadn't realised.

Best of luck on your next one- And perhaps we'll meet again, once I return!

Tala

I'll be honest, I totally forgot he/she wasn't always a woman (sorry). We had some fun times though I might have pushed it to the edge from time to time.

blue41 said it well so what he wrote. Exactly that.
