This may be intended, but Grove spiders and hunting spiders attack other spiders.  If it is intended, maybe don't have them spawn together.

Spiders -are- cannibalistic, but walking into the Webbed Tunnels and watching them fight is silly.

Logic should dictate either it would be filled with Hunting and Grove spiders or all other spiders.

Not necessarily! If spiders are cannibalistic why would it be unusual to come across spiders in the process of cannibalizing one another?

How can rival spiders live in the same place for any extended period of time?  I know they spawn when you walk in, but what are they doing when no one spawns them?

My point is how can any spider environment breed while they are eating each other?  Chars ask my char why they are doing it and I have to make-up a bunch of bullshit.  I mentioned the cannibalism because I'm a nerd.

Basically, it defeats the purpose of having spiders in the Webbed Tunnels if they all just kill each other.

Antagonist NPCs were made to have the wilds look alive. If PCs can benefit from that from time to time, good for them.

They don't I suppose. You happen to have entered the Webbed Tunnels at the time when spider(s) X is in the process of attempting to invade/encroach into the territory of spider(s) Y.
