I know disguise is really hard, and keeping track of titles and secret names is really annoying too. The ruling we have now is that the name of the PC that you choose upon making is the name that he will be known, unless something ICly makes it notorious for most that he should be known as something else.

Mind you this is no self serving suggestion, for my current PC has no secret identities, just many different known names/nicknames depending on where he is.

Anyway, the suggestion is to players that do that and for the courtesy of not having to demand everyone to keep track of their secret names, etc, for instance, a PC named Martin Smith. "Hey Martin" then a tell "Yo, I never said my name is Martin. I introduced myself as Smith.

We should not impose people to keep track of all that.

So, my suggestion is:

Put on the decryption whatever name you introduced yoursef by or the name you think your PC might be known by, should it be different from the one given on creation. So, it is another clue for whoever is interacting with him of who you want your PC to represent at given time.

This is it. It is a suggestion for players, nothing to be implemented.

Another way to do this would be to put any nicknames in your description!

Something that's been said by DM's a few times is that if you intend to be known by a different name than the one you type in at creation, just go with the nickname to help avoid some confusion. While that won't help you much if you decide to go by multiple aliases, it deserves to be said.
