Nihm, damnit, I wear full plate IRL everyday, it's mostly for fashion reasons though, not protection, though I live in Brooklyn and have noticed that I never get mugged when wearing armor...  (that was an attempt at levity as well...)   :)

You'd need the ac, because full plate in Brooklyn is going to guarantee a mugging.
