A npc instructor,  a dummy and time expended with random blows to get criticals, can make a shool of practice for weapons, that reward AB bonus for players ?

ExileStrife

If you are suggesting that players be able to get permanent attack bonus increases for attacking a dummy, that won't happen.

Not necessary -permanent- maybe like a magic weapon or some adicional damage, with till reset effect or skill point bonus, an opportunity to RP training, a weapon bonus some reward

I'd much rather see a priest of Tempus that you can pay for Magic Weapon. Encouraging people to stand around hitting dummies before they quest is lame.

That said, I don't think anything stops you from asking the Sharbs to let you use the combat dummies in the fortress for an RP'd training session - unless those are gone. That doesn't need any mechanical incentive as long as the person hosting it can make it fun.

Stop by and we'll train you up real nice, yeah.

Definately, we could use a new dummy. ;)

Egon the Monkey

I've got a screenie on Bishop's Dead Thread of a PC-led training session I asked Mort to help with. He spawned us a bunch of dummies and NPC trainees. And DrD pissed off the NPCs. It was fun.

Maybe spare coins and time for trainning with npc instructors and get points in skills are an ancient RPG formula, from MUD times, where players get have diferent XP/TP points for levels and for technics and skills.
But is an ideia to by pass some limitations around the nwn game mechanics, server levels/bab restrictions and create new things like 'stones bonus' for skills, feats, etc. not from random luck loot or from DooMs gifts.
