I assume a good portion of EFU will be trying out DA:I when it comes out tonight sooooo. If anyone feels like hitting me up for some fun dungeon run-esque stuff in DA:I, add me on origin (Origin ID is Vlaid).

Pardon me for hijacking the thread but have there been any major day one issues? Can't decide when I'm going to get the game.

HighHouseDeath

Well, the fact its 25 GB has had me downloading for the entirety of day one and then some.

Spiffy Has

Same. My origins is tjohn104 btw.

efuincarnate

Took me less then 20 minutes? Course my connection is 100mbs.

efuincarnate is handle, just downloaded and jumping ingame to check it out.

StoneFolk

I'm holding off on buying because money is a bit tight right now, too bad Origin doesn't do the steam sale thing.

Paha

Check kinguin or similar for pc purchases. I buy all my games from kinguin mainly, for couple years by now I think.

If you're buying on the PC and you don't have a controller, the control scheme for kb+m is an absolute nightmare and almost not worth dealing with.

I haven't noticed anything other than some of the network stuff being slow, but who cares about that.

It's also worth noting that Origin has a no questions asked 24 hour return policy for EA games. I successfully used it for Titanfall.

Some dev friends of mine came up with this config to make the control issues much better:
swapped pause game from Ctrl to Space (putting jump on Ctrl)

used the F key to pick things up - using the mouse sucks

swapped the tactical camera (when you mouse wheel out) to have the A  and D key pan the camera, putting the turn the camera functions on Q and  E key.

There is a bug currently that whenever you switch a character the camera centers on them.  That sucks, can't wait for the fix.

Says the game is really enjoyable once you fix the controls to your liking and get thru the intro stuff..here's hoping!

I did those fixes, among a slew of other things to make it more bearable, but after spending the first 2-3 hours using kb+m, I gave the controller a try and found that I was significantly less frustrated. Even if there are some quality of life changes you can make to the kb+m controls, ultimately they're not intuitive and I found myself constantly doing things I didn't mean to because of that. It's clear this game was meant to be used with a controller, but if you can find some degree of comfort with kb+m then all the power to you.

It plays like the Star Wars MMO, at least, the system reminds me of it, on how you gain XP and shit.
