Aberrant Scrying Focus in the Lowerdark

I think it would be neat to have an aberrant scrying focus in the Lowerdark. Something that would probably enhance some of the caster's powers in exchange of.... sanity?

This would be pretty cool. Dangerous, accessible(ish), and very taboo. When you use it the focus could bestow a temporary wisdom drain as whatever entity is allowing you to transmit the magic shares your mind for that moment to see what you see also.

What about some low chance of horrible, permanent mutations that would turn you kill-on-sight? That'd be pretty fair. You mess with those things, you gonna get burned.

that'd be interesting. to add like a random DC will save vs death or permanent mutation to represent seeing something so horrible from the far realms through the device.

like 5-10% chance of this. with random dc from 15-30

Kind of like the old murdertown remove curse priest. who would randomly cast a death spell on you instead of remove curse hah

By boosts, I would make it possible to scry far away from the Lowerdark as a bonus. If the person has GSF Divination, the diviner would have even more power of seeing in an even bigger distance.

I wouldn't have thought it were possible to scry into the Illusion from outside in any case, maybe from inside would be cool. Diviners do need some love in this regard.

Pretty moot, indeed, until one of us feels like reworking scrying and so on. It's not likely going to happen anytime soon.
