Reduce Welder's plate

I'm not sure what quest/explorable/event spawns a Fullplate called "Welder's Plate' but it's Fullplate with 10% electrical resistance.  It seems like a very high drop rate and common commodity right now which seems kinda off as EFU has always praised Fullplate as kind of a nice achievement to receive.

Dunno if I just found a fair few people who were holding on to some for an extended period or it's just really common but if it's the second I think it's something that should be taken into consideration.

Full Plate shouldn't be dime-a-dozen.

It comes from Exigent Thought and drops now and then. There's a large influx probably because there's a group running the quest quite often since they're at the right power level for it.

GREAT IDEA RWG

Quote07:23 : I should put a DM suggestion up for "GET RID OF WELDER FULL PLATE"
07:23   : xD
07:23   : I can't sell my banded mail
07:23   : Do it if you want
07:23   : Or my half plate
07:23   : Because everyone's like "Nope nope nope"
07:24   : I have half plate equivalent with DI on it
07:24   : I'll steal your suggestion
07:24   : But no one wants it, because it's not "fuuuuulll plate"

We are past the point where full plates should be rare tbh. Though having said that there should be some sort of weakness to the plate.

I have done the quest three times, and gotten the fullplate twice. Might just be RNG messing with us, or that it drops too often. I would agree with OP.

Knight Of Pentacles

It comes from a quest where you can die in any number of terrible ways some of them unavoidable and rather gamebreaking.  I say leave it and make it to where it can't be transferred from the original party members.  For instance give it an OOC note that says "Do not sell or give to anyone outside of original party".

I'd really rather not see that precedent on EFU, myself! My main suggestion is honestly to just increase the weight to indicate that it's full of some sort of insulating material.

Maybe +20% weight to balance it out with some other suits of plate in the game?

I'd argue that a group crushing a quest over and over again every reset is a bit of an issue in itself, not the fact that the item exists the way it does. It's unfortunate that people are doing this quest so effortlessly that there's a surplus of this particular item that they're handing out because it's useless to them. These nerfs are what significantly hamper the quality of loot for those of us that might do this quest once or twice throughout the entirety of our PC's life, and typically with a suboptimal group that hasn't done the quest before.

Welder ' plate and coral plates are the two most common plate armor, they're not that great.

As for quest crushing, at level 8,9 and 10, it is hard to make money or get consumables any other way. Since there is always the threat of pvp, everybody wants to stockpile the consumables.

Once you figured out the loot pinata, do you stop swinging?

My concern isn't with how often a quest is done or anything like that. The whole concern I had though was I saw two people offer me sets, then heard about others selling sets, and it was just kinda seeming like Welder's Plate was pretty common.

Like I said in the OP if it's just been a lucky streak for some folks by all means ignore it. Just wanted to bring it to DM attention if it was overlooked.

Compared to full plate found in previous settings they're *absolutely superb*.  While I think those who do these quests should be rewarded well, I believe by them selling/giving it to lower levels it screws with the balance of the server.

mean_mole

Just make it looks so ugly no one will wear it, problem solved.

HalflingPower

No one wants that halfplate equivalent with DI because its HIDEOUS.

Halfplate itself is not hard to sell.

In all honesty, increase the table of loot in the quest in question, the table is small and thus the rare drops show up very often such as the plate.
