Character Bio:

Mari Galefist is a lawful good Strongheart Halfling monk from the Abbey of the Bountiful Horn, near the border to Luiren. A devout student of the Order of the Hin Fist, she has honed her body into a weapon made to defend hinkind.

While humble, she is possessed of a certain confidence in her own martial abilities that others may find unnerving or even suicidal.

She believes wholeheartedly that her people are the true heirs of Faerun and embraces the inherent goodness of hinkind granted onto them by their divine birthright.

She may appear stoic when first greeted, but she treasures friendships deeply and will never betray them. Not having spent much time around tallfolk, she inherently mistrusts them, especially when it comes to matters involving her people. To her, her own people are flatly superior in every conceivable way. She does, however, recognize their value and will work together with them whenever there are goodly deeds to be done.

When she finds a threat or an enemy to hinkind she can be a force to be reckoned with, and while she wishes for peace she is unafraid of making war on those who would harm her kin. She prefers to confront these problems head on when she can, but is wise enough to know when she must wait and scheme to do so.

While her patron deity is Yondalla, she abides by the teachings of all of her people's pantheon and has sworn oaths to all of them.

She must always take the side of a fellow Halfling in a battle no matter the odds or circumstances. (Arvoreen)

If she meets a Halfling she knows to be evil, then she must protect them and teach them the err of their ways until they are guided back into Yondalla's loving embrace. (Yondalla)

She must never back down from a challenge of single combat from a larger sentient opponent. (Arvoreen)

She can never deny shelter and care to any of her kin should they come to her burrow or camp seeking sanctum or medical aid. (Cyrollalee)

She must strive to live in harmony with nature, rather than apart from it. She will only sleep outside or underground in a burrow. (Sheela Peryroyl)

The bodies of dead halflings cannot be abandoned, they must be taken and given a proper funeral rite by either she herself, or a faithful of Urogalan if one is available. (Urogalan)

My goal with her was to push conflict and unite the halflings. Unfortunately, creating conflict is hard with how people tend to play. Even though, more often than not, I tended to let people go without a FD. I only killed one other player on this PC.

My encounters with Mari were short and limited by circumstance, but I stalked you many a time and you were always an intimidating figure, as well as a force for good. Nice work.

I loved interacting with Mari. Amazed me watching a one-armed halfling frontline with fists.
She sounded very honourable and loyal IG. Helped me in a few key moments early on in my own character development. Through learning some of Mari's honour code and hin culture.
