I can has fun?

This might be easy, or it might be too much of a pain in teh butt to be worth it, I have no idea. However, I do think it would add significantly to the experience.

Since we now have a real actual weather system, how much trouble would it be to get a little blurb in the combat log that tells us the approximate temperature when we enter an area? Perhaps even something as simple as "It is warm and humid," or "There is a slight breeze."

Playing Jharla, I got really tired of people saying things like, "Damn, aren't you cold, woman?" when it's high noon on a tropical island that is situated between a desert and a jungle. If anything, people should be sweating their faces off in their heavy armor.

We should all be on the same page when it comes to the weather.

I like it.  Maybe even make some days where its brutally hot or humid.

I'm not sure if the DMs think this is trending towards the mundane aspects of RP like eating, drinking, waste elimination, etc, but it might add to the realism of the setting.

Sleeper

I've seen it work well for a cold environment, with cold damage being applied if you were't protected, and it did add to the realism of the setting without veering too much towards the mundane.

VanillaPudding

I like the idea. I don't know bout applying any damage in normal circumstances unless a DM is there to moderate it. Someone crashing or losing internet connection in an area like that might cause too many issues otherwise

There is already a script for area damage effects, and there are certainly areas where it would be appropriate. However, I'm just talking about a simple role-play tool so that everyone in a given area are all emoting the same reactions to being outside.

I'm going to save everyone, especially our scripters, some time and say: it's a tropical island. Except when you're in the cold mountains, or in the hot desert, or in the temperate valley. (All of which happen to be within a half-hour walk of each other, on this same island.)

Johannes

There is not a chance in Hades that I'm going to script this. Just be happy that you have a working weather system!
