Race: Any (Kobolds, Goblins, Etc. welcomed)

Necromancy in EFU has been the highlight of many a chapter. With the Nightrisers of Ymph in EFU:A to the release of the horrific H'bala in EFU:M there was always a necromantic threat lurking around the corner of obscene potential. With the transition to EFU:R though and the pull away from Ymph with emphasis on abberations and drow and all the good fun of Underdark it has opened a unique opportunity.

PCs now have a chance to fill the void left by the awesome power of H'bala withering the world or the brutal onslaught of the Nightriser armies seeking to retake the Dominion.

BLATANT WARNING:[/color]

Necromancy isn't for everyone and it is something that while tremendously fun can be a horrific, lonely, and ultimately a very short character experience. EFU has a ton of custom systems however ranging from Alchemical black magics, custom Animate Dead scripting, a myriad of Sorceror, Bard, and other class perks that can all fit in very well with necromantic endeavors.

In the means in which a large amount of our work operates there will be emphasis on existence far beyond Sanctuary in hostile territory where there will be Druids, monsters, and otherwise eager to see your life put to an end. The odds are stacked well against us but the potential is near limitless for what can be done.

See you at Thomas' and happy necromancing!

Following this post will be a variety of perks and concepts that one could consider if they wished to embark on the Necromantic lifestyle.

Rough ideas based on EFU's custom perk systems. By no means something you need to use but just throwing a few ideas out there for people to mull over!

Fighters up first, others pending.

[hide=Fighter Concepts for Necromantic Activities]

QuoteFighter with Body Guard Perk
Necromantic practitioners are no stranger to harm befalling them. A bodyguard could be everything from a failed retainer of a lord seeking to redeem himself in new and twisted service, a man seeking to recover a lost love, or countless other ideas.

QuoteFighter with Bounty Hunter perk
Any corpser needs a corpse and the life of a necromancer is no different. In the wake of the apocalypse there's always good money to be made and a Necromancer is never one short of enemies. Be it head hunting of those who would be foes, someone seeking dark powers to imbue their slaying abilities, or otherwise

QuoteFighter with Brawler perk
A prize-fighter late in his years looking for dark magics to return to his prime with eternal youth, an up and coming scrapper looking for a few zombies to spar against, or simply an enterprising brawler looking to set up some local fights at Thomas' shop.

QuoteFighter with Cutthroat Perk
Some men just want to see the world suffer and spread fear. Marching along side a cadre of zombies is an easy way for a low level thug to find himself with no shortage of reputation or opportunity.

QuoteFighter with Desert Warrior Perk:
Be it a survivor from the sickly sands of Ymph's desert to the far reaches of the Aunaroch or even a Mulohandri follower of the now defunct gods of their homeland there is no shortage of Death in the desert. Those who travel it know well the power of dark magics.

QuoteFighter with Drill Sergeant Perk:
Sometimes when a Drill Sergeant shouts "maggots" it could be quite literal. From the military veteran who lost his troops to a deranged madman who dreams of conquering the world with an undead force there is no shortage of need for a Drill Sergeant in dark times with dark magics.

QuoteFighter with Duelist perk
A man or woman who lives by their blade is potentially legendary but why sacrifice your craft for an end of your life? Be it a noblewoman seeking to ensure her legacy's survival despite his family's demise to a Corsair seeking to sail the seas in immortality a fine blade is never wasted.

QuoteFighter with Laysword Perk
Velsharoon's temples, Myrkul's temples, Jergal's temples, there's no shortage of temples that have been ruined in the wake of the Darkening. A faithful individual needs to endure and progressing the faith with necromantics a sincere homage to your faith

QuoteFighter with Man-at-arms perk
The rank and file rarely stay dead for long when necromantic activities are underway. A man tired of being a red-shirt in a Lord's army who has deserted rank could easily put his skills to use amongst the marching dead

QuoteFighter with Marksman Perk
The slow shuffle of feet is a formidable horde to hide behind for crossbowman seeking to put down a mark on the field of battle. Trade the walls of a castle for walls of flesh to hide behind

QuoteFighter with Pit-Fighter perk
Eternal glory awaits those who fight, so why stop fighting because of a mortal wound? Immortality is yours for the taking for the champion of a necromancer's pit.

QuoteFighter with Rebel perk
Bandits, outcasts, fleeing refugees who have shunned society. Necromancers are no strangers to odd company and there is opportunity for all manner of man amongst the ranks.

QuoteFighter with Self-Taught perk
In the apocalypse one does as they must to survive. Men and women who never even considered hefting a blade find themselves in need of protecting themselves. In such desperate circumstance one finds refuge where they may, even if it is an accursed place as the Boneyard.

QuoteFighter with Sellsword Perk
Necromancers are no strangers to using catspaws for a fair price. A potential position for any sellsword to fill. Need more be said?

QuoteFighter with Sharpshooter Perk.
Why risk your life when others can do it for you? Put down cover fire behind the shield of a skeletal warrior willing to give its unlife to ensure your safety. A sound tactic in any military handbook for certain

QuoteFighter with Slaver perk.
There is no sweeter slave than the one that obeys your every whim. Why sell to Drow worrying if your chattel is alive or not when a Necromancer will take them alive or dead for a pretty bit of coin? Clearly the superior business partners.

QuoteFighter with Squire perk
Some men are born to lead and many an empire has been crafted on the bodys of young men. Why not old women and children similar? Or monsters? A nobleman with necromantic cohorts has a potentially unlimited force to aid in retaking his home or securing fresh territory to rule over

QuoteFighter with Vagabond Perk
Necromancers are nomadic creatures who do not dwell in one location overly long by any means. Quick on the go and eager to flee a dark site of ritual before the forces of the world descend upon them a fast warrior is a warrior who lives to see the next day in the service of such roaming company.

QuoteFighter with Watchman perk.
Your village has burned. Your family is dead. Your liquor won't pay for itself. Take up the cudgel once more to patrol a cemetary and keep pesky interlopers at bay as a Watchman in service of a darker power

[hide=Rogue Perk opportunities with Necromantics]
QuoteApothecary Rogue Perk:
Alchemics plays a large role in Necromancy. From somehting akin to Frankenstein to a more traditional mortar and pestle alchemist the opportunity for a Rogue with such a craft could fit right in as either a laboratory worker or a layman seeking more opportunities for power
QuoteArcane Trickster Rogue Perk:
A rogue with an affinity for the arcane has countless uses in such a field as Necromancy. Be it putting down foes by stealing their own enchantments or battling high powered undead to assist in their bidning there is no shortage of potential magic to swipe
QuoteArchaeologist Rogue Perk
Be it an evil Indiana Jones or an occult style loremaster seeking to unlock the masters of the Dead there is no shortage of tomb raiding, crypt-breaking, and countless other shady activities for a Necromantic rogue
QuoteAthletic Rogue Perk
In the world of Necromantics speed is life. A dutiful scout able to bring quick word of incoing intruders is a godsend to any cabal up to no good
QuoteCommander Rogue Perk
Orchestrating the commands to both the living and the dead, every army needs it's commander and there is no shortage of scoundrel activity for a Rogue to get upto in the company of necromancers
QuoteDetective Rogue Perk
Investigation is a large part of necromancy. Uncovering hidden sites, evading capture by opposition forces, a keen mind and detail oriented information gatherers are easily welcomed in such circles
QuoteMerchant Lord Rogue Perk
Be it an associate doing business in Thomas' shop, a caravan runner across the Underdark, or simply an opportunist looking to fence stolen goods from a crypt a Merchant could find no small fortune operating with those who care not for the wealth of the dead but the power over spirit and body.
QuotePolitician Rogue Perk
As one spends their days amongst cemeteries there is no shortage of need for a smooth tongue or a clean operator. A politically aligned rogue would easily find place as a day to day leater of cabal and cult affairs amongst the living, contact for the outside world, or potentially an emissary negotiating deals with potential allies
QuoteScout Rogue Perk
The wilds hold no love for the necromantic practitioners. A traveled scout well versed with terrain and the world beyond is a boon in every way, shape, and form to those at times forced to flee into the darkness of Underdark in pursuit of survival.
QuoteShadow Rogue Perk
A pair of eyes in all places is not a tool that can be overlooked for one who has so many foes as a necromantic cabal. Information is life when friends are few.
QuoteSpymaster Rogue Perk
At times though peaceful contact must be made and there is only one person who can sneak their way into nearby Sanctuary, mingle with the lowersmen, or even find themselves amongst the Wildling circles. A spymaster can never be disregarded as an ally
QuoteSwashbuckler Rogue Perk
A Dark Lake pirate, a fleeing slaver, a cut-throat in all forms is invaluable in the pursuit of survival abroad. One who knows the way of buckling swash, sailing a vessel, or dealing with nautical troubles is a contact any would be glad to have when fleeing the foes of the Undead
QuoteThug Rogue Perk
Sometimes coffins need to be cracked open. Heads too. 'Nuff said

Translation: Squishy hated mages need melee support.

Seriously, though, having met a Necro briefly before he was killed, a stylish PC and likely a stylish group. Can't go wrong with RWG.

Random_White_Guy

XD I plan on doing the other perks too Blue, don't worry. Not just the muscle but just pitching those ideas as it was the first on the perk list!

Ironside

Do this shit, you wont regret it.

pfft Abala just want a good excuse to go out from the shield for godly work. It's RWG as well so it's gonna be awesome.

Jokes aside, that sounds really cool and I've yet to see a group of necromancers that last more than a week. I really hope it's going to succeed. Good luck!

efuincarnate

Clan Cromax Goblin  Necromancer.

One of you..do it!

granny

And put bluff points into your PC. Lie to me! Tell me you regret and that you won't do it again!

I don't want to go around FDing awesome folks like you. I want to be fooled and deceived. Please DO!

Random_White_Guy

Please don't post things like that Granny. Part of necromancy is being hunted but the burden of PCs isn't on villains to "Lie to your PC to avoid getting FD'd". EFU PvP rules, etc.

Taking a PC's life is part of a story and a conflict and as public necromancers we accept that as a fact of our craft we can be FD'd on first encounter. Encouraging us to put points in bluff so you don't FD us though isn't what a recruitment thread is about.

Dredi

Indeed. So. Just bring a bigger army when you meet her.

Knight Of Pentacles

A concept where RWG has a chance to rise from the dead might actually work.

granny

Sorry, RWG, it was probably not an adequate way to express my admiration for the concept and for the idea.

I feel bad for finishing nice stories. I hope to find out ways to contribute into stretching this one :)

Random_White_Guy

No worries!

Rogue perk concept suggestion list added to the second post. Also anyone interested is welcome to PM me on IRC, here, or drop by #BlackSpiral on IRC.

With operation imminent doom approaching giving this a bump if anyone dies in most horrific means facing off against the brutal drow.

If you ever wanted to play a Goblin or Kobold PC but were afraid it would get "Too lonely" just know that Thomas' Shop doesn't discriminate and Underdark is a vast place for people to play around with away from the main action.

In fact I'd go so far to say it'd be awesome to see a Gobsquat style situation with all manner of different monsterous PCs taking refuge in the dangerous lands of Underdark or the Bone Yard. (Or maybe it's just the evil willy wonka in me wanting some gruesome oompa loompas stomping about in my name :D)

Halfling, human, half orc, dwarf, gnome, goblin, kobold, tiefling, or otherwise is all weclomed!

Visit the perks page for information, the second post of this thread for some ideas for Rogues and Fighters, or hit me up on IRC at #Blackspiral for help concepting.
