Spiffy Has

Lies empty. Will DMs take submissions from players for cool items to add to it? Or should PC members of the House of Heroes take steps to find sweet stuff to add to it?

Howlando

You can make suggestions if you like, or find items, I'm not entirely clear what this was intended to be actually!

MaimedGod

It entered the module after this was announced, so I can only assume it is related to that. Maybe ask SC what he planned on doing with it? http://www.efupw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86872

QuoteItem Name: Heroic Vambrace
Type: Gauntlet

These vambraces were once worn by the famous Councilor and Hero of Sanctuary, Baron Von Matterheim before he ascended to the Surface and lived amongst the refugees of Old Port in the Colony of Ymph. Faced daily with the trials of old age, these vambraces were forged for him so he may grip his weaponry in a superior fashion, while indubitably endowing him with a more heroic aura in his old age battle regalia.

QuoteItem Name: Adelia Tyrell's Hat
Item Type: Hat (Helmet?)

Worn by the famous Councilor, Loremaster, and patron of the arts in the Sanctuary That Was, she ascended to Ymph where she found that the democratic spirit of Sanctuary was not only rejected, but oppressed. Speaking loudly from her platform as the Leader of the Archaeologist Society, she was soon condemned- but miraculously escaped.

This hat somehow made it back to the Underdark, containing the many secrets she learned over the course of her time in the Underdark as Sanctuary's premier Loremaster.

QuoteItem Name: Frum Highhill's Bag of  Holding
Item Type: Bag of Holding

It was said that Sanctuary's most famous, wealthy, and powerful Merchant was a halfling by the Name of Frum Highhill, a halfling of a dubious association with the criminal elements in Lower Sanctuary and possible cult associations that endowed him with immense wealth. It was said that he once hired the Mighty Etorix, Self-Proclaimed God of the Dark Caves, to fight an invasion of drow so that no soldier of Sanctuary need perish. A snide remark whispers that he forced the dragon to also give him a receipt.

Whatever his legend- it is said that no matter the weight, this bag will always make it feel like nothing.

QuoteItem Name: Archibald's Silver Spoon
Item Type: Cutlery

This was said to be the silverspoon placed in the mouth of all members of the Archibald Family before their disgrace by Alexander Archibald, who willing walked into the Arms of Intryzz to escape the misfortune that plagued Sanctuary in its final days. The spoon is of remarkable purity, endowing the blessings of the Archibald family upon all who would place the tip of the spoon upon the tongue.

QuoteItem Name: Eugene Castile's Final Words
Type: Book

This book is said to have been Eugene Castile's final words before he embarked on a mad assault on the city of Ysinoide. Fueled with pious fervor for the now former goddess of Magic, Mystra, he left only this book behind with the Society of the Ordered Mind. The book was left amongst the rubble when the final assault of the Moanderite Lizardfolk destroyed what was then ostensibly called "New Dunwarren", laying waste to a grand Temple of Tyr and the Society's Former Headquarters. A scavenger recovered the lost words, and it eventually found its place in the Serpent's Horde.

Written in a tongue of magic few may decipher, those of magical disposition can perhaps translate a few beneficial enchantments for themselves and others.

QuoteItem Name: Isania Scatterhawk's Beshaban Vestments
Item Type: Cloth Armor

Description: A beautiful woman in Sanctuary, she was known for her mischievous cruelty and her open proclamations of "Beshaba Provides", many were her suitors- and each met an unfortunate, and cruel demise in some accident or another. Whispers were slowly spread that they weren't accidents at all, but that of a Beshaban who perfected the arts of assassination to make it seem that way...

Regardless of the truth, these dark purple vestments have found its way into the serpernt's horde, to continue a legacy of misfortune and cruelty.

Description: A Hero of the First "Rot War" Sanctuary had with the Moanderite Lizardfolk, Julian Fryar was a devout Paladin of Ilmater and served on the Council of Sanctuary. It is said that in his private contemplations, he'd practice self-flagellation to purify his form of sins, and that the womanly form held fear for him as he treated it as an object of sin.

Whether these rumors prove true, this thoroughly uncomfortable, flea-attracting garment indubitably holds power in aiding one in disciplining them mind against sinful thoughts and urges, urging one toward the esoterism of Sainthood.

Description: The Famous chieftan of the cave worm Clan that rewarded the heroes of Sanctuary for fending off a Formian Army, which served under an Immense giant named Zovaldar, and was also responsible for numerous heroic feats of strength. It is said by the survivors of Ymph that when he left Sanctuary, he came to the Isle of Ymph, and was frozen beside his Brother-in-Arms Gundahar by a Basilisk. Rescued by heroes of the colony, he soon founded a tribe at the Unyielding Pass, named for him.

However, after an immense assault by an army of undead, he wrestled an entity known as the Agony of the Hunt, and fell down the cliffside to an uncertain fate. The withered folk of Ymph insist boldly that he still lives, some even saying that he is wrestling Dendar the Nightserpent in the Stars above the accursed Archipelago.

It's a bit smelly.

QuoteItem Name: Fizzlewig's "Pick Me Up"

Description: An elderly gnome wizard, Fizzlewig became known as a famous arcanist in the city with a small problem- he had trouble in bed. The dysfunction was soon solved with an ingenious concoction which he soon grew tired of brewing as he entertained many gnomish maidens, and through artifice and research, made it an everlasting brew. Suffice to say, the Serpent's Horde seems unsullied by the inclusion of this relic, and many an adventure can find a use for the...brew itself.

Description: Though few know it, it is the truth that Barrister Fawkes, former Sheriff of Sanctuary, and now unfortunately deceased, was a Spellsword like the founding wizard of the Spellguard. Through charm, spell, and skill, he conquered the lizardfolk city of Sslal'teesh and cast down their prophet in triumph of arms- marking Sanctuary's first, and only, conquest of another major settlement. His tenure as Sheriff was marked by an unreasonable hatred toward the Tribe of the Blade, Gypsies of a Sort who demanded coin from Sanctuary before providing any service.

Suffice to say, this glimmering Scimitar is now placed in the Serpent's horde, awaiting a wizard to continue his legacy.

QuoteItem Name: Valaron Sunnelar's Palette
Item Type: Paint Brush/Board Thing

Description: Valaron Sunnelar stood as a paragon of beauty and incorruptible service as a Lieutenant in the Watch. A Paladin of Sune, he had a devout following of loyal women who eagerly sought his attention at every opportunity. Skillfully fending off these advances, he saved himself for a one true love. These were the tools he crafted to make the portrait of his dream- a wife so beautiful and kind and loving that she would epitomize Sune herself.

Sadly, the portrait itself was lost to time, only the tools remain, awaiting an artist to craft again.

QuoteVerisa Fireheart's Hairpin
Item Type: Misc Item

This hairpin was given to Verisa Fireheart in lieu of an Engagement ring by Wyric Crowshire as the two were scheduled to be married- a consummation that never occurred as the Paladin of Sune committed suicide sometime later in her career, peacefully slitting her wrist as she sat in a warm tub waiting for death to claim her as it eventually did. Some plucky thief spotted the glimmering hairpin before she carted away to the Mausoleum, and it eventually found its way into the Serpent's Horde.

Description: The storied history of the seekers is a long well- often at odds with the Spellguard in their own way, they sought the surface and the freedom it represented, in contrast to the steadfast willingness of the Spellguard to defend this city- what they called the Final Sanctuary. They achieved their victory in the end it is said, when the survivors ascended to the surface and into the colony of Ymph, where they were dealt their death blow by Fransico De Olid at the Isle of Peace off the Western Coast of Ymph.

QuoteItem Name: Aleczumberzeil's Skull
Item Type: Skull

The Scholar is perhaps Sanctuary's most admired, feared Necromancer. Having become Sanctuary's number one enemy for a time, yet a storied freedom fighter, having launched one many claim to be the most successful assault on ysinoide in history- leading an array of Doom Knights, Undead Umberhulks, and even vampires upon the gates, and freeing hundreds of slaves from mental Enthrallment. It is said he was never seen after the attack, but what it achieved is debatable- others argue it ended Sanctuary's freedom sooner, while others claim it delayed what was an inevitable assault. No matter the critics, amongst the necromantic circles in Thomas' inn, he is held as a Hero, and this relic- a treasured possession of his, has its place in the Serpent's Horde.

QuoteGhyrrt's Shit-Stained Boots
Item Type: Boots

Description: When House Montezzi fell, it's members fled and were all eventually hunted down to the last. Its dukes butchered, the Counts hacked in two, and the Knights and Squires the product of a long 'clean up' campaign orchestrated by the Spellguard- yet one survived. Ghyrrt the Goblin, loyal Vassal of House Montezzi, master of its monstrous hordes remained. So great was his prowess it was said that he single-handedly wiped out an effort to destroy by the Stewards, beat down assassination efforts by the Spellguard, and even was paid a moment's notice by the New Mayor of Sanctuary, Michael Bresley, before the rebellion. He soon gave up his free will and became a Thrall in Intryzz's service, where he fell in battle at an arena event in an effort to impress his  bizarre and strange Master.

QuoteThe preserved flower of Glorblor the Shadow
Item Type: Flower
This Pink Flower belonged to Ghyrrt's partner in crime, Winnie the Pink- a terrible gnome warrior with a cute button nose and dimples on her cheeks. Wooer of GLORBLOR THE SHADOW, she was said to have been defeated by a triage of dwarven paladins, before coming back from the dead as a Revenant and hacking them all to pieces- regardless, what rumors say, the pink flower represented the monstrous love the ogre had for Winnie the Gnome, and their romance is still the stuff of Lower Legend.

QuoteThe Mask of Glorblor The Shadow...
Type: Helmet

This dark masked belong to the famous Glorblor the Shadow of Lower Fame- a bouncer of the Pissing Crone that kept the peace. It was said that he could sneak into the Matriarch of Traensyr's very bedroom, peep on her changing, and return to the Crone in a single night, and without even alerting a mouse.

Whether such legend holds true, the helmet is bulky and unwieldy to all not of Giant blood, but with a few creative uses of rope, it can fit...somehow.

Pot Helm and Robe Set, cannot be worn without the other.

It is said that this duo set made the Perfect Disguise when a certain kedrick Reynold's focussed on completing the machine during the Fall of Sanctuary- an effort that was ultimately unsuccessful as the machine did not awaken, and the chosen reconquered their old home. As he graced th streets of Lower and Upper both, wearing Pot Helm and Robes- the shady disguise went unnoticed by all and permitted him a freedom of movement that was otherwise unheard of in that era...

Meetier Family Crest

The fabled family crest of House Meetier. It was once owned by the remarkable man in purple full plate, Mort Meetier.  Legend has it Mort had lost his memory after being nearly killed by a savage Fire Beetle. Aided by his cousin and well known for greeting, meeting and giving a potion of 'Luck' to all he met, he went on to attempt to escape the fallen Sactuary-that-was via 'The Way'.  Scrawled on the back of of the crest are the words: "Damn the mirrors!" Nothing more is known about Mort Meetier, his cousin or the Meetier family, but is is rumored his purple full plate armor still lies unclaimed somewhere in the Underdark ruins.

A Bedine artefact once in the possession of Sheriff Azzam, after the discovery of his enthrallment and his shameful fall from grace it was requisitioned by the Spellguard. Given the significance, even this far down, of the Sun's disappearance, though, and only after thorough testing to ensure a lack of Illithid tampering, they have seen fit to allow it to return to its duty of defending Sanctuary with harsh judgement.

The relic was kept by the Wyrm for a time, until its own enthrallment and subsequent battle with the Appetite; it is believed his Shadow Tribe fled with a portion of his treasure trove, including this weapon, and adventurers eventually saw it back to Sanctuary.

Rather than make brand new items that were usually much more powerful than any of those characters ever actually had, I dug up some of the original actual custom items I made in EFUv1 and tossed them in the Serpent's Horde. It should be a cool nostalgia trip for some of you.

I'm writing up a few items styled after Chapter 3, hope that's alright! (I wasn't here for Chapter 1 ;)) Expect 'em later today.
