Mechanical penalty for body carrying

Is it possible to look at scripting a severe mechanical penalty when carrying a body, particularly for one that's only blacked out instead of dead? I feel like black out mode should be something used specifically post-conflict and not something that should be practical in the middle of a battle. Someone carrying a person, gear and all, should be devoting the entirety of their attention to lugging that weight around. It seems weird for someone carrying that much (IC and OOC -- this is an entire PC, their life, and a player's invested time) to be able to fend off an attacker with the only downside being slowed movement speed -- and that's assuming they're not over the weight limit. Throating an invisibility potion and running off seems similarly undesirable.

I know that there have been DM comments on the proper use of BO before, but I've encountered so many issues with this, past and present, that I feel like there need to be changes to make carrying a body more of a burden than it currently is.

I wish to add this. When you carry someone is there some way to indicate that the person has a body (either dead or unconscious)? As it is now you can simply stuff them in your pack and nobody would know. I understand that this is a fantasy RPG and reality is often put on hold, but it seems beyond implausible that you could hide a body like that while lugging it about. It also seems to me that it creates more interesting situations if the body is somehow indicated as the act of carrying the body increases danger, tension, and interaction with any you might happen upon.

Granted, a lot of players do swiftly emote that they carry a corpse, but that also requires that they be aware that another PC is present and watching, which isn't always the case. It might not be within the capabilities of the engine to do this, but I do feel that it's a benefit if it's somehow possible.

From time to time, make the PC emote that they carry the body. An script that would trigger it might be possible, no?

I am pretty sure the mechanical penalty is that people are -really really- heavy.

I don't feel like a reduction in move speed is a very severe penalty, especially considering that a high enough strength score or a magical bag completely negates the penalty. Carrying the full weight of a human body and the entirety of their adventuring pack is hard. I don't feel like it's practical for someone to drink an invisibility potion mid-combat and run away under these circumstances, nor do I feel it's the least bit reasonable for them to engage in combat at the same level they would when they don't have a person slung over their shoulder.

From what I understand, you are NOT supposed to be putting PC corpses/packs inside magic bags because it is -ridiculous- that you could get them to fit in anything besides a true bag of holding.

Don't put bodies/packs in magic bags, please. We'll consider the suggestion.
