"Levitate" spell

It'd be completely appropriate if wizards/sorcerers/certain clerics can be able to cast 'levitate' and allow them to automatically succeed climbing checks or otherwise allow them to cross areas that require a grappling hook.

Granted, "Jump" can fulfill the same function, I just figured a better version of the spell ought to be available for those who choose not to invest in tumble.

Last I knew jump wasn't working.

Jump adds to your tumble score.  Which, to my understanding, is alway 0 if you have not invested at least one rank into the skill.

Didn't work despite having points in it.  But that may have changed by now.  Was months ago.

The Mentalist

Jump works fine, but sometimes it bugs and you have to cast it twice. It's very effective as a climbing aid, but doesn't allow you to cross horizontal/vertical climbs specially tailored for grappling hooks and the like. However, there is already a levitate script in the module to do just that. Having it as a spell would surely be interesting.

Make it an "astral door" spell or something.  For diviners.

The levitate ability does not work for crossing chasms or anything that would require a grappling gun. Or if it does I am just doing it wrong and apologize for the error. In my experiences with it it only works for scaling up or down cliffs as a replacement for a climbing claw but not other types of climbable features. Again it could just be me not standing at just the right spot when using levitate. I do have a character with some levitate potions and 1/day levitate so could test it if this is not working as intended.
