Unable to log in using new downloader/launcher

I am able to get the new downloader to run, but NWN is barely responsive when it opens. Clicking okay on the login screen does nothing, but then pressing enter gets me to 'authorising player name'. 'Could not connect to master server' appears after a minute but then I can only get between these two dialogue boxes. My time zone is GMT +11.00, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra.
I am trying to use the downloader/launcher because clicking weapons in the starting equipment crashes NWN. I'll report this in another thread.

Anything that happens after the launcher runs NWN should be unrelated to the launcher itself.

If you run the launcher once and the haks and dialogue.tlk are successfully installed, you should be able to play EFU without needing the launcher at all.

So I'm a little puzzled by the report.

Launcher just launches nwn. It does nothing to nwn itself, so that's a hard one. I would suggest you make sure you run all nwn shortcuts / main.exe and all that good stuff, as an admin, and in XP sp3 mode.

If neverwinter nights itself acts weirdly, it's on your side one way or another. One is graphic drivers (I personally have experience of some being really wonky with old nwn and windows aero system.), other is the admin mode and windows permissions - make sure all is enabled for nwn.

The master server / authentication is normal thing, as gamespy closed down nwn login servers. You can easily skip that long wait check with one change, which I can't remember right now. It's somewhere on forum.
