Yes, a self-serving suggestion, I know, sorry. Still, I think it'd be kind of cool, and the last bit somewhat necessary.

Allow Nightmare to be used on those who are subdued as well as those who are affected by the Sleep Spell. Maybe have it immediately sending them to a Blackout Area. Maybe a special blackout area full of monsters and other horrors.

Additionally, let it be used on those who are resting.

If there's to be a discussion about this, no mentions are to be made of what the nightmare boons actually give already.

Reign of Dystopia

Does it really need two additional ways to make it stronger? It sounds pretty strong already in my opinion.

Valo56

Not necessarily stronger, but using it on resting people just kind of makes sense to me. While using it on subdued folk (maybe only people who are blacked out?) also makes sense.

gravekeeper

It sums flavor and gives more possibility of interactions.
I think that it hardly empowers the perk or makes it undesirable. It also brings the suggestion of improving Black Out Mode, which I think could be turned into a realm of hallucinations no matter which are the effects of the perk, considering the current theme of the setting.

I don't know shit about scripting, so I have no idea if Nightmare on resting PC's can be done- though I kind of dislike the idea of attacking PC's during their rest to begin with. If you're close enough to attack when they're resting, you've probably been close enough to attack for an ample period of time- so just do it already.

I would also think that changes to Black out mode would be cool, but ultimately low on the list of priorities in the big scheme of things. We already have a number of wonderful nightmare flavor text for every rest. Black out is a temporary state at best to allow for more options post-pvp. Sending people to a nightmare-scape that would leave them all by themselves doesn't really allow for more interactions with other PC's.

I know this is a suggestion thread rather than a discussion thread, but I'd just like to point out the likely reasons behind the suggestion for buffing this perk:

1. Elves. Lots of them around (though thankfully less in EfU than on most servers) and they are all immune to sleep.
2. Ghostly Visage is a staple spell that makes anyone immune to Sleep.
3. Protection from Evil makes anyone immune to a Dream Eater's Sleep spell.
4. This one is thematic, but it's rather strange that one would have to put someone into an -enchanted- sleep to be able to eat their dreams. The allure if the dream eater is the fact that there are things out there that can get you when you're most vulnerable - when you're sleeping. Allowing this to affect resting PCs will create temptation for Dream Eater PCs, as well as inject a healthy level of paranoia into the server when it comes to resting around others.

Knight Of Pentacles

Yes. And increase resting times when not in a safe rest area. :)
