Dear Alexandria,

Though our discussions have been sparse of late, here is a report and some ideas.

I have met with the Balladeers, all of them now, and though I've received mixed receptions, I believe they shall be supporting us (not fully, as I have been stressed to remember by Sister Selsi).

There appears to be some predicament stirring within the Lost Hearth. Aeronwy Caddick has expressed her true feelings of Lyrist Aubrey Domergue to me and I suppose you must know this already.

The Lieutenant is delayed in sending us a second revision of the laws. It may be safe to say he is in Vellyn's pocket but I'll know more soon. I shall do my best to meet with him again and see if he shall not budge.

I have heard little from the Astronomers, but shall send a letter to Estillise Azimi in the hopes she might listen to reason and support her favored League.

But now let me tell you about the Palm Heights.

Tear down the offices and begin building tenements and apartments atop them. A fashion store, a former bank, and a restaurant. These are all things intended for comfort and how many of our dear people may truly enjoy the luxury of such? It's expensive to expand the Shade, but if we simply build upward toward the Sky in defiance of Pra'raj himself, it will give the laborers a massive project for us to pool funds into so they do not go a day without being paid and a meal in their belly.

Then we may see how long Zina Zizzo tolerates the sound of hammers and chisels ringing against her roof for months.

We may open up an interest free bank that is not intended to make the state rich but to break even, or keep it afloat. A portion of the loans can be forgiven if paid back within a week or two.

What was found in the old Trade Hall? Perhaps we shall correspond here for a time, as I have been quite busy in the late night.

Yours truly,
Edmund

(My shifts now end at 1 AM EST so if I'm not dead tired by the time I get home I can still hop on for brief meetings but my activity is gonna shift towards EST days for a while)

Beloved Edmund,

Your ambition is ever inspiring to me and your methods to spread ideas to many other minds so that they might be molded and shaped is admirable. You and I shall speak in person concerning the tower and the garrison, for to put to paper would require a lengthy thesis that might admit me into a college in Baz'eel itself.

As for your dreams in the Palm Heights, we share them but must ever remember that destruction for the case of creation is a wicked game. Might I propose, instead, that we seek to provide funding for specific individuals who aid us in our cause and that of the refugee, who in turn occupy and begin to build a culture there that we are ever seeking to implement within all peoples of the citadel?

For example, a foreman who can now become a citizen with some of our aid, who in turn assists some of his workers by providing bunks and a stable but temporary home. He in turn shall accept the gifts bestowed by us, that great opportunity, and then share in the same way along the rivers of desire. This hope and kindness would then spread like the antithesis of the gold league itself and purchase much for the league of white.

What do you think?

Alexandria,

The proposal is well and good. In fact, the offices need not be torn down and the Heights can simply be built upward and expanded into apartments some day.

In truth it was partly in jest, and I am pondering, are you attempting to have me arrested and tried? Your bellow was foolish and easily caught on to.

I'd advise you not to put me in such a position again, nor yourself, as it looks poorly upon us and we have gleamed what we may of them and that ought to be enough.

I am an idealist with a mind of my own and though I have been at your side, loyal as ever, I should not like to be mistaken as a lapdog that comes to heel upon a whistle's blow. If you wish a message written and delivered, let it be my own words writ from my own hand, signed by my own name.

To pen anon and spread propaganda and pamphlets that shall put our work in jeopardy would be disastrous, and you are far too cunning to place this command in trust without a plan, so tell me this plan before it is executed, else I shall as mentioned in this letter suspect you are orchestrating my downfall in this election.

Yours truly,

Edmund
