Selwyn,

Thank you for your visit to the Priory last evening. When you think of those we have lost, I pray you will remember the words inscribed on the gravestone overlooking the great room of the Krak des Roses. They are for the Rose, for Ephia's Well, and for all the Great Desert.

No soul is without purpose in these latter days of the Age of Ash. We are blessed with a singular opportunity, won by the sacrifices of hundreds and thousands gone before, to realize something beautiful in the world.

Sister Zoe knew this, and neither we nor the Wyld shall forget her.

The copy of the verse you heard recited is enclosed. It is in the style of the Kulamet, in this instance alternating iambic tetrameter and trimeter (an arrangement that Zoe was fond of), and you will observe its rhyme scheme.

In Faith,

Sister Amélie

[A poem handwritten in the style of a pamphlet, with a rough woodcut illustration of a Sibylline Sister amid the Garden, is enclosed.]
