Our intended chicanery at Assembly was shut down by the Consulate, who appeared in force and assumed austere authority over the session. They wielded the veto for the first time in the history of Ephia's Well, to remove the imbecilic new law that Ahmet forced through, because he unwittingly made it a capital crime for Rennik Colmes to be Warmaster.

This is an excellent opportunity for us.

It would be politically advantageous for the Gold League to refuse to restore the law at all, under any version. The Janissaries already stand against your campaign, and the other Accord factions have no desire whatsoever for you to limit their privileges and options. What's more, any Accord-affiliated candidate will automatically turn the other two pillars of the Accord to the vehement purpose of preventing that person's victory; given the voting power of the Gold League, a divided Accord greatly benefits our odds in the election.

Furthermore, I am reminding you that only two days remain for you turn in your petition. Please return to the Ephia's Well office within that timeframe. Just in case you do not, and you default and fail to file your candidacy by the deadline, I am going to place a back-up petition with five signatures on record.

I've no intention of handing Ahmet a lifeline without severe concessions.  Teaching him not to test me is very high on my list of priorities.

Don't fret about the petition.  I always wait until the final day to curtail any ludicrous upsets.
