[The letter comes attached to a large package. It's clearly marked for Margarethe. It is neatly tied with a red ribbon]

Dear Margarethe,

I couldn't help but notice the trouble you were having holding your wine the other day when you came to visit the Priory. I think I know the problem you are suffering and I hope I can offer you something that used to help me back when I was all alone in the world.

I pray you do not find me presumptuous with this, be assured that I've not shared it with anyone inside or outside of the Sisterhood. It can be just a little secret shared between the two of us if you wish.

To help you, I asked the little sisters to make something especially just for you. You'll find him inside. I hope he is to your tastes and you will keep him close to you. When I grew hungry and fearful in the ruins below as a young girl I would hold one just like him and find myself drifting away, all my fears and wants gone until daybreak.

Perhaps he can do the same for you?

Hold him tight as you find your rest and know that no matter what you do or where you go you now have a friend that is thinking of you fondly.

Please come visit the Priory soon, I will have another present for you.

Faithfully Yours,
Zoe

Dear Margarethe,

I'm sorry. My Sisters have told me that my gestures have been taken as cruel threat. I promise you that was not my intent.

I only wanted to be your friend and I thought your invitations and kindness to me despite the difficulties you have with my sisters was a genuine outreach. I'm sure you understand that with my childhood it is sometimes difficult for me to tell. At times the world looks very strange.

It is difficult to convey any further in writing, I would offer to show you but I do not wish you to take it in the wrong way.

Rest easy, I won't make any more overtures of friendship to you unless you invite me. There are beautiful things I could show you if you only wished it.

In Faith,
Zoe
