Honorable Legate,

Live and Drink, I pray this letter finds you in good health and for my own sake in good humor.  I wish to express my profound apologies regarding my behavior and attitude's expressed during our brief meeting.  My actions were unbecoming of one of my station, and though there were (and remain) external factors at play which drive me to some urgency and bluntness of character, there is no excuse for my conduct.

I would like to know if against all odds we could try again.  A meeting over tea at a place of your choosing, with the company of your choosing, at my personal expense.  I believe there is much you and I could learn from one another; and I would be eternally grateful for the opportunity to see you think better of me.

Nadiri O. Kreutz,

I would be interested in hearing about your Thesis topic, if you have chosen one already. Be not worried, you were not the first one to threaten me with death or injury, as a member of the Accord. Despite what most of my Scribes would advise me, I know that tempers often flare up, especially when we desired something and it was dashed away from us.

Yet, patience, like in so many things, is key. Eventually you may end up a Magistrate, or a Prelate, but sometimes being able to focus on a handful of things may put your mind more at ease.

You may know this but before I was asked to be a Legate I was managing the Ophelia Whitmore Library, which I organised mostly myself. When I was asked to become a Legate I found my time greatly diminished. The Library stood untouched for weeks at a time, as I could neither organise my lectures within it, nor find more tomes for it. As an Izdur it was something that saddened me greatly, but matters of state took precedence. Even now, when I moved my entire library to my office I store all that I have gathered, or, most at least, I did not have the time to obtain more books.

As a Nadiri I would suggest you appreciate the time you have to focus upon your work, because once you are given more responsibilities this focus splinters, and consider the fact that some days after my normal duties I sit in my office for hours on end, on meetings with different people, where the spare time I do have is to write letters or complete paperwork.

You are still young, and perhaps did not have to go through the same tribulations I had to, but it is exhausting. It can even feel frustrating.

All the same, I would be happy to speak with you, when next we have the chance.
