[A letter sent to the tower, addressed for any Apothar or Zenithar]

Dear Astronomers,

Given the common factor and concern of the crucible, Isabella, and now Yomar was that they bore lists of names - I am writing to ask one of your number to illuminate me on the matter more to clear up what seem to be some dire misunderstandings. You do not need to respond in letter form, given the sensitive nature of the information, but please send a representative who can enlighten me on such things.

Firstly -  Lojir's writings of the Obscurata suggest that a name alone is insufficient, it must be paired with intent and recognition.  This would suggest that a name alone upon a parchment is no inherent risk from these entities in itself.  Yet the concern showed for these lists, suggests otherwise.  Please clarify this point. What is required to minimize such risks, and when does such a list become a threat?

Secondly -  On "Giving" these names to the Djinn.  If someone has made pact and these entities are within them, such as the one hiding within Marl Marlson -  Would not any name Marl or the brooker in question hears after this, be 'given' to that selfsame entity by sheer virtue of having the name, and recognition of whom it belongs to after they introduce themselves?   Is there something specific that must be achieved, for this 'giving of a name' to occur?

I have similar questions relating to how to minimize the risks these entities posed, best left to being spoken in person.

Come to my office at your leisure, or I shall join you in your tower for the answers.
