You raise some fair question. To begin the Astronomers of Q'tolip have undergone a crisis of purpose. Like the Camelback Tortoise once threatened they chose the path of isolation, security, and closed their public laboratories. It is of course their purview and property to do with as they please, but such things send clear message. The Astronomers of Q'tolip, unable to bend or best the Alchemists Guild into joining their rank, huffed and scoffed.

The Stele of Ephia is not the only Stele, for they are found wherever the Sultan's fair touch reaches, but upon the Stele is it to be a carving of Agency. In the past Waradim Road-Warriors sought to protect the King's ringed-roads and otherwise, organizing and convincing local leader to etch name and give purpose.

In modernity the requirements of Agency are manifold

• Voiced Status
  
• Organized operation lending Boon to Ephia's Well
  
• Non-Accord Signatory  nor other Factional ties beyond Government service
  
• Charitable Favoring
  
  Suffice to say no amount of charity can fulfill you the position, while you are of the Astronomers of Q'tolip.
  
  The question of Banning the Alchemist Guild from such a role, is another entirely.
  
  They have earned the favor of Legate, they have earned fair contract with La Banda Rossa and the Janissary, They have risen to be a preeminent force for the study and advancement of the Craft despite the many obstacles and failings of your Tower to obstruct their operation.
  
  To this Sol Auk would say - A sum of 15,000 dinar.
  
  Given the number of Nadiri, Apothar, and more it would be a pittance, not even a month's allotment.
  
  But such a sum would see their name removed from the Stele and returned to simply a private organization within Ephia's Well.

The Gold League has many potential, but none yet stepping forward to serve as Candidate to replace Sol Auk.

Mari Blacke was the front runner but her loss has left her disdaining politic,
Magistrate Qari pursues much, but all of such is outside the realm of candidate.
