Questing "Mentor" System

I suggest allowing a single pc be allowed to take a quest that they are above the level limit for with the caveat that they will not get any xp for turn-in and half the gp.

This will ease the difficulty of lower levels finding people to quest with, open up more roleplay opportunities between higher and lower level pcs, and give higher levels opportunities to obtain some resources.

I honestly like this line of thinking a lot but see potential downsides as being like a high-level PC can negate the challenge of a quest, functionally creating a power-leveling situation

One thing I felt would mitigate it would be to have some kind of level sync type system, using either temporary negative levels or some kind of elaborate system that can make you temporarily a lower level for content

But also I think if we make it too punishing to the high-level PC, then they get nothing for functionally taking a lot more risk of xp loss

It's something that I think a lot of us have thought about for a long time, it's never fun to have someone have to go "oh sorry I'll just wait out here" because they hit level 8 before their friends, but it's also a tough thing to solve for cleanly

This is definitely one of those things that I agree we all have thought about at some point. But it's so obviously going to get called an unfair advantage by anyone that's not a mentor, regardless of any drawbacks you might argue for, or how well it's being RPed.

The best bet is to just ask to be deleveled to play with others more once you hit a higher level. Just get more supplies, most times you dont need the extra power. It's better to just be able to play the game.

If anyone DID come up with a good system though...
