Kill Bill Superman Scene

"When that character wakes up in the morning he's peter parker. He has to put on a costume to become Spiderman. And it is in that characteristic that Superman Stand's Alone....

What Kent Wears, the glasses, the business suit. The Costume. That's the costume Superman wears to blend in with us. Clark Kent is how Superman views us. And what are the characteristics of clark kent? He's weak, he's unsure of himself, he's a coward. Clark Kent is Superman's critique on the whole human race."

Quote[7:22 PM] blue41: Seems to me our lords and leiges twerent prepared to do everything they can for us smallfolk...
[7:23 PM] blue41: So we gotta look to the old ways...
[7:23 PM] RandomWhiteGuy: Tweren't indeed... Makin' their deal with their Augurs, an' their scumdrels, and their Blood Worship"
[7:23 PM] RandomWhiteGuy: Haha.
[7:23 PM] blue41: It's Clark Kent gone evil
[7:24 PM] RandomWhiteGuy: There's definitely some good motivation there
[7:24 PM] blue41: Calamitous intent...

In one of our many brainstorming sessions Blue and I got to bouncing the idea of the fact that growing up, living in the Steadings, enduring everything the last few years of EFU would be an abject horror show. The sort of thing that could rot a young man from the inside out without even realizing it. You grin and bear it, you soldier on, you're a midwestern farm boy. That's. What. You. Do. Bury it deep, more crops to come. Ghyl? Yeah, it happens. Torc? Yep them too. Orzan harassment, wild monsters, and on, and on. Eventually a line would have to be drawn.

For us it was the Winter of the Skratti finally overtaking Hugh's family farm. His Father drinking himself to death in the wake of losing everything.

Something within the young boy he buried low, began to sprout.

Fear, Hatred, Anger...

Nicholav Haedric was an elder necromancer of the Timeless One who, after almost killed and driven out by his cult, murdered a Scribe and assumed the role. After all the Royal Archive was dead, who cared about a new Scribe showing up?

In the Steadings he found a charming, affable, overall none too spectacular young man by the name of Hugh. In the young man he realized was all he was looking for. A Farm boy who could be taught to wield a weapon, who could be taught to weaponize his charms, who could be built not just as a man, but more - oh so much more. An idol upon which Haedric could build a future for himself - an otherwise isolated Cultist and Necromancer.

Their first move was to round out the name. "Hugh".  No one bows to a Hugh. He would be Huberth of Ornbrynn
The next was the Clothes. Fine linens, gold, white, pristine, standing out in the Peerage from the varied House adornments. Pure. Almost Paladinic.
The next was the hair, natural blonde, but properly kempt in the fashion of one Kristoff Orza who drives the young women wild, Hair and Beard and oh my.
The next was the speech, ,a Steadings drawl fetches no one's attention. He would be verbose, overly so at times, to prove just how hard he worked under cruel tutelage of a mean necromancer to learn his letters.

In a world where Lords appeared overnight, so too would another appeared.
A Crusader of the Lord Departed (After all, Jeremiah Dupris was here, then departed)
Who, having failed in Ring 88, returned to tend his Family's holdings in the Underweald.
Who, at the behest of his cruel Tutor, would take up Politics and Shrine like duties tending the populace.
On a Statue the Water Gardens the name Skybloom is written and they're all gone,
Let us call it a Marble Quarry from the inrings, our Ring Runner guide mentioned that.
Build a fake lineage of a Father, a Grandfather, and more -

Writer X wrote a letter to "All the Noble Houses" PC/DM

No one Answered, so Blue41 did what Blue41 did best and started leaving Bread Crumbs. From this one letter we built a two months long cascade of deception, double dealing, wheeling dealing, and more.

Tonight let's help out Bishop Stavros with Charity.
Tonight let's help out Monty Owlstone with Monster hunting.
Tonight let's help out House Moonspear with their Inquisition.
Pavement was beaten, work was done.

Blue built a Monster based around Iconography of the Peerage, and over time the youth became obsessed with the facts of this City.
How easy it is to manipulate stories, tales, myths, the archaeology of it all.
The Empress of the Sibilant, the Daring Swords, Quarterdragon,  the Timeless One,
On and on these ledgends, raised on high.
Everything about them removed and a few, palletable, easily eaten morsels left.
That's all anyone remembered.

So how can you twist that, exploit it, defile it?

And the Patriarch was born.

And until the day Lucas Castell outed him as the Patriarch? No whispers, no promotions, no typical RwG menace save a few well placed letters in moist boxes and a very, very evil Bible which Bearic was kind enough to make for me and let me proliferate IG.

After all None of us came up with the "Lucas Castell is the Patriarch" myth -

But of course the Chad Wizard,
with all the dangerous friends,
making all the big waves,
Joining the Big Mean House,
with all the people's attention would get assumed to be the big bad...

Because after all who cares about Clark Kent, when Lex Luthor is on the scene?

Big ups to Blue41 for the constant inspiraiton to do more, Eq for pushing me to flex out of my comfort zone, Bearic and Arc for all the great help and flavor, and Skag and Arc for the most intense Permadeath sequences i've ever had in EFU.
Anglers for taking the rap for a bit, Bone Zone for keeping it real, and NND for being a great mercenary who thought he was prepared to dance with the devil in the pale moon light.

I have about 245 Screenshots+ to filter through, most of which spoilers, So those will probably come along tomorrow, but this set the foundation for the highest intrigue I ever had in EFU

You had the entire Peerage Ward going mad trying to find you, and its so incredible how adamant I was it was the wrong guy too! When I ran into you in the rings I just assumed you were some harmless ring runner, how little I knew at the time.....
