Moth quest

This quest still needs looking at. The worms are simply too powerful, reduced ab and a dc chance for wounding rather than onhit wounding would be better. The loot could also take a looking at, I've only ever found suitable loot for the risk on part 2. I've done the quest multiple times and received the same terrible rewards with the best being shoes that levitate you. Perhaps we could add shadowsilk clothing and armour drops to the cocoons?

I'll add as well when I am regarding loot found on the quest I'm not comparing it to what was used so it's not a cry for making this quest profitable, as I know dms and players love the old saying not all quests should be equal bla bla, but rather more make it worthwhile.

This is indeed one of the much more difficult ones - without negative energy -/5 resistance then theres no way of finishing that end area. I've got high fort and +8 vs negative energy and its still painful - and negative energy protection has a much too short duration

While I think the worms can be hard, mostly I've breezed through this quest at least the first part.  The loot can be decent, I wont spoil it, but a lot of the time for part one it's very poor.  I think either due to the nature of the quest, aka themed loot, or bad luck.

Paha

Last part is optional, if I recall, and quite clearly said to be such and very dangerous.

And try to avoid spoiling quest stuff and details on forums, if you must, use private forums. Nothing big happening here or anything, but we're borderlining.

I think something was lost in translation here aka I'm terrible at articulating my point. The problem I was chiefly concerned with was part 1, I only then compared it to part 2 as that part is far more balanced in terms of risk and reward. The reward for part one just isn't there, considering what you fight the quest is sometimes more difficult that umberhulks and the reward seems to rely on luck, as I've seemingly never found anything good from part one, and also a person with a particular set of efuss skills. Ill use the case in point of 2 warriors, a Mage and a Druid doing the quest with an average level of 5 for the reward of 5 shadow stones.

I support my suggestions in the original post to fix this, or even some sort of reward from the goblin. Though I'm aware those little runts are hardly saints surely a lamenting goblin spirit would reward you with more than a thanks for avenging him!

Aefar

There are simple ways how to avoid both - negative energy and wounding. I always considered the first part as easy and the second part as a bit challenging at the end.

SN

9lives will fix it Griff.

Jasede

I feel like the first part costs more to do than it yields.
I've never turned a profit on this quest and thus avoid it.

Here, take five shadow stones! w00t!

Damien

Jasede was collecting, he can confirm. It might be that the cocoons got bugged.

Yalta

I have seen this quest give out extremely good rewards and loot. No need to change.

Jasede

Maybe the chances can be looked at. I've (unfortunately) been doing it at least 6, 7 times now and without exception, it was miserable. Also, even with 10 [skill], I've yet to see the check at the end work.

Damien

Like I said it might just be the cocoons are bugged then!

LordOfBones

If were openly whining about the moth quest, can the wounding effect from the worms have a fortitude check instead of being automatic? DC16 or something?

Cheers

Damien

I already posted that in the OP, and don't use the word whining. This isn't whining.

Paha

This indeed is not whining, it's a suggestion and fine as such.
