The Alderman of Little Tickertown

A bit of "Girl they Call Fitzroy" to set the mood

[hide=Little Tickertown Storyline]Acceptable or not by the traditions of the Ward, in single move by the House of Glitt the landscape of the Burgage was irrevocably changed. In the wake of the attack by the House of Nephezar upon Tchammor the Dragon's Adamantine Vault, portion of the Burgage open by Lady Mairead Glitt to allow the Refugees fleeing the destruction to carve their niche in the town. A mixture of shanty town and destitute encampment early efforts moved swiftly to see the region altered.

Along with other figures, two recognized for helping Alice Magillivray in rising from the poverty of Little Ticker to become new Curator of the Peerage's Library: Alaric Hardigan, Dungeoneer and Barrabas Qatan, Merchant

Likewise of merit, Kapise and Frogrin Deraque, Cousins who famously amassed a small fortune to see the local watering hole of Little Tickertown raised, "The Weeping Flagon" as an establishment where Non-Humans for quite some time flourished and prospered as ring runner, adventurer, and entrepreneurs.

Upon the rising of Percival of Parias to Veteran Retainer, despite any reservations that may be had, an opportunity offered for "Humans and Subhumans Alike". A chance for those who seek improve the lot of those in Little Tickertowne in various way, shape, and form so long as they are prepared to accept further responsibility from the  House of Glitt. Be that for their own mercantile empowerment and aggrandizement, the creation of their own corrupt gang to counter the Blackjacks, or otherwise endeavor.[/hide]

One way or another the mixing of Humans and Non-Human characters in the Burgage/Peerage Ward is here to stay and while some (my PC in particular but other forces as well) may find that objectionable the fact remains that Little Tickertown is a property of the House of Glitt that sits untapped as a well of wonderful possibilities in terms of story telling dynamics, shifting of culture, and otherwise enterprises. Rather than creating some Demihuman Utopia where Retainers and Nonhumans alike may intermingle my hope is use the Glitt's at times rambunctious nature and the unorthodox declaration of Lady Glitt to create a Subward within the Burgage to push a larger story and ferment some strife.

The fact that Non-Humans can't find place in the Peerage is a curious obstacle but over and over it's been brought up in #EFUmain so i'm hoping to develop a storyline to see the Non-Humans given some "Skin in the game" so to speak with the future of the Peerage Ward. Based on the fact the Deraque Family and the Weeping Flagon was a purely PC driven effort to see the tavern built, as well as the restoration of the Library from Alice's cofferbowl, to see basically a version of the Alienage from Dragon Age /various slums of the Witcher story universe.

A forced, at times unpleasant, but not always wantonly hostile tension between:

The High Peerage, Retainers of Great Houses
The Middle Burgage,  a mixing pot of minor houses, adventurers, ring runners, etc.
and the Low Tickertown, Tickersmen, Slum Dwellers, and Non-Humans

Basically A PC interested in helping quarterback efforts and push this story line, see interest raised among the community, events at the Flagon/Tickertown hosted, and likewise is sought.

A few potential concept ideas:

- For those familiar with Winston the Half Orc from past chapters, a more gruff and  CG/CN Gangster Half Orc just out to keep his small family and extended family safe from depredations with a band of gruff mercenaries

- A weasely CN Human Merchant Lord Rogue/Adamantine Vault Accountant who survived the Vault's fall eager to raise his fortune on the back of non-human labor and similar compared to Victorian era child labor with a band of goons.

- A Cleric of Phanax of Opulence or the Imitation Godess or another power formerly popular in Ticker Square to seek refuge among Little Ticker to combat the influence of the Velstry, along with his faithful preaching in the slum of Little Ticker

- A Halfling Bard to keep up the legend of the Family Deraque and raise money to become the new owner of the Weeping Flagon Tavern and orchestrate a PC Faction of tavern type PCs, bouncers, entertainers, etc.

- A former Burglar of Ticker Square eager to get some mischief afoot abusing the protections of the Blackjacks and Glitt to begin petty crime of Pick Pockets and otherwise across the Burgage/Peerage.

- An Elven Wizard who seeks a quiet place to enjoy his studies free of those GOD DAMN INSUFFERABLE HUMANS, so he does some political business and organizing on the side to keep the refuse in line and the noise down.

- A Tinkerer of Tickertown's Clockwork Guild hoping with the Count's Rise to see the Old Clocktower rebuilt and time kept and more with a most annoying belltower and other works of wonder to help Industrialize Little Ticker.

- A Human Politician who simply wishes to make a name and fortune for himself to parlay into moving into Oldspyre after betraying the House of Glitt and the Subhuman filth of Little Ticker who help build him an empire only to flee with a few loyalists for greener pastures

- A Dwarven Defender who wishes to carve a safe place beyond the Uld's Graveyard for he and his clansmen to survive and thrive while battling the many corrupting and dangerous forces of the Peerage Ward.

- A Gnome who aspires to open a franchise of the Toyfolly Factory raising 75,000 groat to buy Little Tickertown from house Glitt and turn it into a Corporate Workforce and Factory.

Existing or New PCs ofc welcome to reach out.
