Boss has met his end by the executioners spear for the many many crimes committed against Sanctuary.  It was a an amazing journey and a great first PC for EFU:R.

THE BEGINNING
PC BACKGROUND:

Born Alan Greycastle, the halforc that would become Ahlgan Khachakhan was the result of an unholy union between a powerful Orcish Warlord and a captured Princess being held for ransom.  The ransom was paid and the Princess was returned to her Kingdom, 'unharmed', yet -not- unmolested...  Months later Alan (Ahlgan) was born (an event that would render the Princess barren) and was raised and educated secretly hidden away within the massive castle walls.  When Alan (Ahlgan) was in his teens he was told he must leave and make a life for his own outside the castle walls and thus he departed into the cruel world.

After a year or two finding little work and an abundance of demeaning tasks for a man raised a prince Alan (Alhgan) wandered the world.  One day while out in the wilderness he had stepped in a badger hole, breaking his ankle.  If fate had not brought the wandering "Ora Tribe" to his aid he would have died alone and forgotten.

THE ORA TRIBE

The Ora tribe are a group of nomadic halforcs that share a distrust of all non-halforcs (Gadna-hyn).  Based on RL Mongolian history and culture (feared warriors, brutal combat, conquest) they travel the realms adding other halforcs (Hychney) to their ranks that feel it best to live with their own kind. Though the Tribes members come from every walk of life, most are easily indoctrinated into the loose faith of the Ora.  This faith is based on the reverence of Tuya, also called the Sun.  Upon joining the Tribe, each halforc may take a Tribal Name and position in the tribe.

Alan Greycastle became Ahlgan Khachakahn, roughly meaning:

"Great Crimson Steel Defender"

Ahlgan, because of his martial skill, would take up this title and live by its ways using the Mongolian weapon of nobility: the Halberd.  For many years Ahlgan valiantly defended his Ora brothers and sisters, brutally putting down any and all threats to the tribe until the fateful day the Sun was swallowed, the skies went dark and Tuya died.  Only a small handful Of Ora survived the coming weeks, managing to escape into the underdark and to Sanctuary.

IN THE DARK

The Ora Tribe quickly found themselves thrust into a world filled with human masters, whom the Ora blamed for darkening the skies and killing Tuya.  Unable to stand the presence of such oppression above (and finding the feelings of those in Sanctuary to be mutual), the Ora Tribe made their home in the Abandoned Fortress.  This location would invite much conflict into the lives of the Ora, as they struggled to remain living in the fortress while threatened by the many gangs of Lower, both PC and NPC. [Special thanks to DM BOM [Pissrats!] :D]

SCREENSHOTS

A rare shot of all of or most of the entire Ora Tribe that made it to the UD. A BIG thank you to DM Derfo for running a wonderful prelude for us. Also thanks to Pelorean for the concept, all the original Ora players, n00m (Umog) for sticking with the concept with me and Gracken (Krelgen) for trying to help us make it flourish!

After many Ora went missing in the Dark, Ahlgan spent long hours in the fortress we claimed trying to figure out what to do or how to...DESTROY SANCTUARY! -They- [non-Ora] killed Tuya and destroyed our world, so shall it be for Sanctuary!

The noble-blooded Ahlgan loved things such as thrones, crowns and rare jewels. He rose to the position "Master of the Ora Tribe" as Ora were lost to the dark.  This was a place he did -not- want to be in, however as the 'Defender' of the Ora he thought himself best suited to the job.

Under Master Ahlgan the Ora tribe would vie for control of a nearly unpopulated Lower and control of the Lower Fortress.  In the process, a cock-sure Spellgaurd Auxillary by the name of Akmir Hazgok would meet his death when he told two Ora tribesmen to "make him" leave (the then unpopulated) Lower.  The poor soul's corpse ended up in the canal (only to be raised later) as a clear sign to Ora rule and authority in Lower. [Special thanks to El Groso and DM Sternhund for this].  The Ora would forevermore hate the Spellgaurd and Auxiliary and would challenge their authority in Lower at every turn.

One of the Ora Tribe's favorite flyers.

The trials and tribulations of life in Lower began  wearing on Ahlgan.  Other Ora were not to be seen around Lower and after  some time, Ahlgan believed his tribe dead.  In response he dyed his  orange clothes black in mourning, took on the identity of a mercenary  called "Boss" and set out alone in the world once again...

One fateful dark, Ahlgan, now referring to himself as "Boss", would meet a frail old man named Tobit.  It just so happened mercenaries were troubling him so,"Boss" told Tobit it would be best if he hired himself as a bodygaurd, as "Boss" was an -expert- warrior and bodygaurd.  In short order the two were nearly inseparable.  'Boss' Ahlgan would frequently refer to Tobit as his "good luck charm" and the adventure of his life would begin when the both of them found themselves on the list of "The Condemned" rebels. This would lead to Irith and Boss inciting a battle that would lead him to acquiring the helm of Avery Balfour.  Boss would wear this item in mockery of Uppers authority over Lower from that day on. [Special thanks to all the players involved that night, especially  the player of the KO'd halfling Watcher Brambles and to DMs AMB and SC for their oversight, advice and help along the way]

Boss met many an interesting rebel and revolutionary within the Ascentionist Cathedral, and even fancied himself one of them, as they gave him hope of seeing his god, Tuya once again. (Special thanks to the whole Lower Condemned crew [Gracken, Moonlighter, Blue41, Cap, tala, Petey, Sophii, TheBigX, Merrick2, hedsik, n00m, Calixto] and all the rest of you! Special thanks to Torrance {sorry} and DM LiAlH4! You guys are all great RPers and alot of fun to be around! :D)

Chilling at a feast in Karmac's Cave. [Great PC and concept RWG]

One of Boss's 'Business Ventures' was the Lower Power Authority, a shady organization built to rival the Spellgaurd Auxiliaries and procure resources. The latest plan was to close the Ventilation Shaft in the Worm Pits.  This plan would not come to fruition under Boss's guidance...

While returning from the task, Boss would accidentally run into many members representing the interests of Sanctuary and would be enspelled, beaten into submission [By Brom Blackwood] and subsequently incarcerated in the Watch House.

'Boss' Ahlgan's capture resulted in his public execution in Freedom Square for a litany of crimes including Treason, a charge that brought him much pride. [Thanks again LiAlH4 for spending the time to make Boss's end memorable!]

THE   AWESOME
IN EFU:R

Moonlighter

Rest in peace, Bossman.

Irith and Ahlgan had quite an interesting relationship. I'm not entirely certain if either quite fully trusted the other, but the brainy sneakthief and the brawny fighter made a potent and formidable combination when their purposes were aligned.

They were polar opposites, in a way. Irith a tiny craven coward, with a strong moral compass who flees from her problems, and Ahlgan a massive and assertive half-orc with loose morals who challenged his problems head on and rarely backed down from a fight.

Alas, death spoiled their fun before anything truly material could come of it.

He will be missed.

Blue41

Got to interact with Ahlgan on two characters, and he was substantially different from one iteration to the next. I had no idea he was your first PC, though- you did an awesome job, and I was very sorry to hear he was gone.

Best of luck with your next, mate.

Dillusionist

I really enjoyed interacting with Alghan. Its always nice to see half-orcs that aren't drooling henchman. I'm sorry the Ora/Mongolian Orc thing never really took off, though I thoroughly enjoyed him as a mercenary Boss.

Looking forward to your next.

goate

Had much fun hanging with Boss, both on Krelgen and on Tobit.  He saved Tobit's life several times.  Will be missed!

I'll post a screenie or two later.

making me roll an Ora...

tala_kai

I can't believe I only interacted with him only recently, I feel a great miss :(

He was fun to have around in lower this last weeks, bringing a more chaotic feeling, and one that represents the "gang" side of lower (which was a bit dead for a while). It was also very fun to see more half orcs arrive to him and almost witnessing the rebirth of the Ora :D

Boss was a great addition to the rebellion, making a lot of choices that others wouldn't, but in so, opening many doors for things to happen. He would be missed!

Boss made the Pop Divas jealous with his sexy Ora Bras

TheBigX

Ah, Oleif will miss the big fella. Had a great time running around with Ahglan and "Old Man"  Tobit.  Good luck on your next.

Calixto

Great character. Too bad we almost didn't interact :(
Most enjoyable characters:

EFU: COR
Tristan Caerfal (NG Human Sharpshooter)

EFU:R
Thomas Valentine (Human NG Fighter/Rogue)

EFU:M
Marion Sileyna (Human LN Cleric of Loviatar/Fighter)
Atreia Kelten (Human Paladin of Tyr)
Riku (NG Stargazer Ranger)

Aethereal

I certainly enjoyed the time among the Ora, (i.e. with Ahlgan and Umog) and enjoyed that time engaging with players I don't usually don't get to interact with. Though everyone was so scarce for a group concept, it never felt like a tribe and more of a solo experience pretending there was a whole tribe behind it (which was alright for a bit, but got old fast), 'tis a real shame it never worked out - was a great concept.

Good job sticking to the Ora tribe and letting it evolve into what Ahlgan eventually became. I commend you highly on that show of dedication.
