The Ordo Arcanum: Order of Magic

Are you a mage, scholar, or want to be a wizards lackey constantly buffed and enspelled! This is the guild for you! (ok catchy phrase aside)

This is a group that was Originally formed to explore and uncover the mysteries of the rings, we have been around for a while and ran into our own challenges, but still alive and kicking. At this time we are focused in Ticker's square and looking for mages, bards, clerics welcome as well, and scholarly folks seeking to learn more of the rings. The main requirement is to be scholarly and eager to learn the secrets of the rings. Or seeking to protect those within the organization as a whole.

It was a lot of fun running a mage guild in the City of Rings, who, did, unfortunately as the setting demanded of wizards: failed and failed and failed. (even though it was sorcerers who left the biggest impact and had a lot to do with those failures)

The idea was to do the opposite - to find answers as to why wizardry had the reputation that it did in the setting. A good many answers were found, research completed, and a great number of lessons learnt... wisdom acquired through failure and torment.

Now the self-destruct policy has been activated, always there from the conception of Ordo Arcanum:

There is a chance that there is a good reason why an institution of arcanists does not exist in Ring 99 and or the City of Rings. It could be as simple as this being a backwater, or that some as yet unknown force shuts down such efforts or even both of these things in tandem or something much more disturbing. In the event that some entity arises to threaten the Ordo Arcanum's existence, it will be disbanded promptly. We are not here to meddle in the affairs that might lead to this outcome. (Consider this the self-destruct policy, a last resort)

City Sending by Soppira Hinkley : Attention, City of rings, arcanists, friends. With a heavy heart, today I as Matron, Officially disband the Ordo Arcanum. Members, we will meet to wrap up any loose ends of our research so that nothing ill comes, many of our problems came from our lack of knowledge of this new place, and far too much carelessness in some of the ways we did things, i sought to change things, but the Ordo cannot be any longer, we will meet, and form a record of our history, and our dissilusion, so others can learn of our mistakes, and so we can all say our final goodbyes as former members of our Order.

The lore of the setting is still something to pursue though... for those who seek to understand.
