So I am throwing this out to the public.  I have been unable to play EfU, or NWN at all since the new update.  I've gotten no help from Beamdog.  Has anyone read or know anything that might be the problem?

Whenever I start the game nothing happens.  Just nothing.  I've also noticed my nwn.ini and all of the folders are empty.  I even bought another copy from GOG to no effect (super thanks to Howland and the anonymous donor who gave me the original copy).  I suspect that the problem is on my end, but for the life of me I cannot figure it out.  I am super bummed I am once again missing out on the awesome that is happening right now.
If anyone knows how to fix this I will be eternally grateful.

Pup, when you said you bought another copy from GOG, did you mean you bought another copy from Steam?  A GOG copy won't work (unless something's changed that I down't know about) since it will be nwn 1.69.

Without seeing exactly what is happening it's unfortunately a bit difficult to diagnose.

That said..

When you launch the game, does the process start at all? You can test by opening the task manager just before you try to launch the game. If the nwnmain.exe shows up briefly then it means the game tried to launch and could not.

Could you potentially do a screen capture video of the process, or alternatively take screenshots with every step?

Thanks for the responses but I figured out the problem.  I can't fix it just yet, but I figured it out at least.  I guess I'll watch from the sidelines!   :'(
