So! The carcass of the Colonial Guard has been stamped upon by Isengrim Sharboneth, and our Guards have shiny new uniforms. But what does this mean for you?

Well, I'll start with our reasoning behind the change. The nature of the Guard being what it was, it lacked any secrets or depth behind it. I have heard it being compared unfavourably to the Stygians and the Order countless times upon IRC elsewhere, and it did not seem right to us as a team that one of our factions would be thematically weaker than the others. So, based around the Sharboneth theme we (I hope) weaved a unique and deep faction that lends itself well to secrets and intrigue.

So, what does this mean practically? Well, most basically I am pleased to announce that the faction will have no mechanical restrictions to joining. However, there will obviously be huge IC problems to a Druid or suchlike attempting to join to the point that it is virtually impossible to get in. But, more that that it gives you a more interesting playground to develop concepts for. Before, we had a 'watered down Watch', bereft of the secrets and history that the latter faction boasted. Now, we have a law enforcement faction unique in that it represents the agendas and interests of a noble house- with all the intrigue and ambiguities that brings with it. I'd encourage players looking for a concept to seek me, or any DM out on IRC or IG if you're looking for a fresh character.

I think that's all I can say for the moment. If you've any questions, find a DM about. You know how.
