So, in an effort to try and get people to join the Mausoleum, I decided to start a new thread.

The Mausoleum presents itself as an impartial recorder of death, okay, all well and good, but that is for the NPCs.

The PCs, the Roaming Scribes, are permitted to be MUCH more while carrying out their duties. From Fatalistic Monks to Fire and Brimstone Preachers, to 'reformed' undertakers. Paladins of Jergal who hunt down undead, to closet Palemasters who desire to Master Death and bring about the End of Days to the undeserving living. Then there are those who are scared shitless of the End of Days, and which better god to serve than the one who is quite literally the LORD OF THE END OF EVERYTHING?

Just a note, I'd love a fire and brimstone cleric. Screaming to everyone on the street corner they are gonna die and they better worship the gods and add jergal to their prayers.

You do not need to do wills, corpse collection, or other standard tasks. You can be a diligent hunter of undeath, a politician who is dissatisfied with both black and red guilds and seeks to capitilize on the citizenry who do not desire to support the Agenda of Either Guild. You can be a scholar who researches the Silent Gods and the effects of Dendar upon the Pantheon of Gods. You can be a withered soul, who worships jergal to try and prevent his or herself from becoming undead. You can be a necromancer attempting to master the process that the Church has perfected in creating sentient undead that does not involve lichdom...

Some common knowledge that is easily gained from being a citizen of Sanctuary,

Quote from: ShadowCharlatan Wrote ThisHistory:

The Sanctuary Mausoleum was reopened on the first of Hammer 1383 by the   founders of Sanctuary's Scriveners of Doom - the Tash Family. Suffering   no pomp, they began to immediately record the dead and perform proper   ceremonies for the first time since the fall of Sanctuary-that-was.

The Tash Family and those they had brought from their temple were   initially reviled for Thayan indulgences in slavery, which they quickly   and publically renounced. But as Upper Sanctuary was further rebuilt, a  series  of tragic deaths during the reconstruction effort cemented the  place of  the Scriveners in Sanctuary society. Despite the reputation of  the  nascent temple, and with an irony since  noted by historians - the   civilised treatment of Sanctuary's dead was  one of several powerful   symbols signifying the rebirth of the slave  city.

Throughout Sanctuary, the Scriveners of Doom are sometimes known as the    Greys, or the Greymen, due to their distinctive robes and demeanour.   Children are told not to misbehave, or the Greymen will come for them...   and to most citizens, those in grey robes are an ill sight. Such   expressions as "I'm voting for the Greys." have come to represent   personal dissatisfaction or disengagement with the political status quo,   often with the suggestion that the dead could run things better.

So, Vote for the Greys, and join me in making this faction more than what it seems, and achieve things outside the box of what people deem possible. ;)

We can have this Mausoleum, or This kind of Mausoleum. You decide.

Gentlemen of the Empire

The Mausoleum faction now has a healthy dose of dog god and now has some great active PCs. We could always use a few more, however and there are many things the mausoleum is interested in that go beyond the collection of corpses. If you have a scholarly character who is interested in history and investigation, the faction may well be an excellent fit for you. Warriors seeking to end the scourge of undeath would also find themselves especially welcome. The more the merrier!

Knight Of Pentacles

While the mausoleum appears rife with monotony looking from the outside it can host numerous concepts and makes for a wonderful, low commitment springboard.

The Mausoleum is still around, and actively recruiting! Remember, while the end is coming, it's not here yet, so make sure you take a part of its recording! Papa Jergal would be most displeased with a disorganized library!!!

I enjoy the Mausoleum faction and the cast of characters within. What I would like to see are some characters who take to the idea of the end and explore the philosophy of true death and end, as well as take to the faction politically.

A politician/street cleric who believes that the end is nigh, and that the people of Sanctuary should prepare for it.

A bard that wishes to collect songs, stories, and literary works and preserve them for the end of all things.

A wizard/loremaster exploring the ideals of the true end and seeking to bring it.

A writer who is intrigued by the lives of people and hunts down knowledge of them. Perhaps a ranger or bard who seeks to see the wrongs of the dead righted?

A coward that wishes to serve Jergal and be the last name on Jergal's list of the dead.

Cannibal seeking to eat the corpses. What? Free corpses!

Just the beginning. It is a really cool faction and one I look forward to playing in!

One of the most intriguing and unexplored factions on the server, I can only stress the awesomeness of this association :)

Been looking around IG and can't seem to find one. Are there any active/alt PCs that people could log in with to help me get started with this faction?
