I've got an itch to run a combat arena (Targus Tournament-ish) type of event in the coming days where people can fight unique and strange enemies for unique and strange treasure. What I need are suggestions for said treasures. Give me your thematic ideas for treasure (e.g., hammer infused with the power of wind, cloak of reptilian skin, leather armour made from goblin skins, etc., I don't want a list of stats and bonuses) and perhaps you'll find yourself facing the opportunity to win such a prize!

putrid_plum

sling imbued with the essence of adventure! (or luck) ;)

DeepDark

Belt weaved with the essence of magic

zDark Shadowz

Sem will probably roll his eyes but-

Kara-Turran / Samurai Armour complete with katana &/or shortsword, use the armour of enkidu leg design and some mixture of leather & metal arm pieces for design ideas, vary the torso for leather / chain / full-plate, that's several items in one go.

Morningstar that lights up when it hits something, used to wake up gladiatorial slaves physically and keep them awake while handing them a weapon for the day AND keeps the arena well-lit while they duke it out.

-I'll think of more later cause 'm at work and should be working lol.

Sealed Cat Emblazoned Tome

Blessed by the goddess Sharress this tome is a relic of the goddess' more ancient following. Upon breaking the seal the reader would find naught but strange hieroglyphs of various feline entities. Unbeknownst to them the readers body would change such that they took a form more feminine and feline. Clearly these tomes were meant only for the eyes of the devout, yet just the same it would not be difficult for anyone to open.

Special Property: Cursed

Upon reading the character gains EITHER charisma = highest ability score OR if charisma is their highest ability score they may choose one score and raise it to same amount as their charisma. However they always gain feline features including a cat like tail and a model swap to female to represent overly feminine appearance.

Starstruck

Ser _____'s Bulwark - good only large shield previously owned by a paladin of helm/torm/tyr/ilmater who perished in defense of her people; said to be cursed, for every owner has supposedly died in the defense of innocents

Winter's Torment - an artifact of the Frostmaiden created with such powerful intentions of spite and hate that its wielder is driven to kill all those who cross him.

Simsam's Tool Belt / Simsam's Adventuring Pack

Ladyhawk's Raimant - cloak empowered to polymorph a person into a hawk,

Staff of the Darkstar - an artifact imbued with the power of both Selune and Shar; light and darkness; good and evil... a paradox of cooperation between two antithetical forces

Tantrum Slippers - boots owned by a prominent Waterdhavian nobleman and sorcerer who would constantly stomp his feet whenever he wouldn't get his way -- a fact which brought him much humiliation from his peers.

Bartlet's Armament - a mechanical cylinder with 4-6 'gun' barrels situated around one side; it is colored to match the old Auxiliary uniform and appears to be meant to be attached to an arm that has been severed about halfway up the forearm. The side opposite of the barrel has an engraving on the rim that has been burned off with acid, though there's one word -- a name? -- that's partially legible. "Bartlet."

Aberrant / Necromantic limb - a sinister experiment meant to replace the arm of someone willing to sacrifice their flesh for the 'enhancement'

Saffron's Slippery Slitherer - low-weight rope that doesn't require a grapple gun to use or gives the levitation potion effect x/day with an emote describing; also summons snake x/day

Franklin's Guide to the Occult Vol 1: Finding the Right Patron of Evil for YOU! - lesser planar binding that summons the servant of a 'patron' suitable for a warlock; nixie, imp, quasit, small slaad, writhing tentacle mass from the Void, etc.

Umberlee's Baleful Gaze - said to be a helm through which the goddess herself can see the actions of her faithful, this artifact brings curse and ruination to all those that would speak poorly of her in its presence

Pretty Socialite Mask - a vibrant mask lined with gold and painted in a lurid crimson, this seems to be at one point used for some sort of masquerade for the social elite... but whenever you avert your gaze, you swear the expression painted on the mask changes.

Deformed Bone Club: This is a unique club made from a deformed femur bone of a humanoid. The bone club has a noticeable curve to it starting at the handle end and growing straighter as it reaches the head of the club. The head of the club is also misshapen having noticeably more bulk to it than a normal femur bone should. The curved handle in conjunction with the bulky club end seems to deliver more wallop than your average bone club.

efuincarnate

Simsams Wrap/Cloak-Relic of Simsam's one man Assault on Transyr! Magickal essences absorbed into the clothe from his many, many, many potions quaffed during his epic journey (and mostly spilled upon the poor cloak!)
Simsams Adventuring Cap-Must be of a gnomish party hat/helm style! Simsam always had on a stylish Chapeau! When worn at just the correct dapper angle, light is reflected in such a way that  dazzles  ones opponent into confusion.

Spiffy Has

Grasp of Shadow- A heavy black gauntlet with tips dotted with blood red rubies. Reaching forward, it grasps the heart of the one before you...

Heart Clutch 1/day
1d4 negative damage

Big Cook

A ring with Weapon Proficiency: Martial used only for the matching sword of a Cormyrian sword-wielding War Wizard giving spellslots and/or defensive spells/day.

TheShadow

Eyes of the Dead. Twin rings with ruby gemstones carved to resemble eyes, each is an artifact of exquisite craftsmanship. Rumored to have been crafted by a mad lich to house a portion of it's power, these rings certainly hold true to their intended purpose. However, true power always comes at a cost. The bearer of these rings is stricken with a remnant of the Lich's madness, and a powerful curse ensures that whoever takes up these rings will forever bear it.

Item property: Cursed. Anything else is up to you!

Sword of the Celestial planes. A longsword long lost in the depths of the Underdark, this holy blade was rumored to have been discovered in a Tomb of Horrors, one of only a few retrieved. Gifted to a paladin in times past, it had since been lost, only now to be recovered. The Sword bears some sentience, willing it's bearer towards good, and refusing to be wielded by any of ill-alignment.

OUB: Good.
