JACOB FUDD, THE PRINCE OF SLUGS
HEIR TO THE LOWFORT
TRUEBORN SON OF KING T'T'T'T'T'T

After many months of fun Prince Jacob the Third, the Prince of Slugs is dead.

It's been a hell of a ride, and one of my most enjoyable characters. The core concept was a bastard born to a tavern whore named Beth Fudd, who had the luck to be taken on as a squire to a traveling hedge knight and learned the ways of honor and duty. Eventually he became a hedge knight himself and battled with the armies of Tethyr against the Dread. When the armies were broken he wandered protecting the innocent and fighting the Dread Empire until his horse got spooked by the appearing portal to Sanctuary. The horse kicked him in the head and he fell into the portal. When he woke up confused in Lower remembering very little except his determination to continue his knightly quest to protect his realm and serve his king. He had a strict knightly code of conduct and an unbreakable sense of duty to Lower and the Covenant which made for some fun internal conflicts. He started as a jolly drunken knight questing for glory, and by the end became more somber and disillusioned.

There's so many people I'd want to thank for the fun times especially the members of the major factions that gave the character purpose. It's been great playing with you all in the Covenant, and warring against you all in the W&W and Exiles.

Here's his story told in screenshots (most of them are screenies of me unconscious)!

Malark Amblecrown and Iso
On one of the first few days after creating the character he got into a fight with the exile collective over a cool artifact. When he was beaten he stormed into the vaults to reclaim the item for the King, only to find that it had been destroyed by Malark Amblecrown. Malark demanded Fudd be detained. Fudd, being a more stubborn and ditiful than smart, demanded Malark fight him in a duel. If Jacob won he'd claim Malark's hand for stealing from the King, and if Jacob lost he'd willingly be detained.. It went as well as might be expected. Here's Jacob after being detained.

After being brought to the Sleeping Pyrimo the gathered exiles decided to toss the armored Fudd into the depths of the Dark Lake to get rid of him. With a flick of Iso's super cool whip Fudd was launched into the Dark Lake to trudge his way to shore or else rest forever at the bottom of the lake! (Dun dun daa!)

Against all odds the injured and fully armored Jacob Fudd managed to find his way back to the shore, choking on water the entire time, and surviving by one round of lucky fortitude saves. Since then Jacob collected every bubble berry he could get his hands on, and developed a mild phobia of the Dark Lake. He swore an oath that he'd someday capture Iso and return the favor by sailing out to the center of the lake and tossing the armored man off a ship, which unfortunately he never managed to do. He also swore he'd claim Malark Amblecrown's hand to punish the man for stealing from the King, which he never managed to do. He swore a lot of oaths that he never achieved, but I never stopped working toward them. Here's the hitpoints by which Fudd made it out of the Dark Lake. One more round and Fudd would have had a short career, I think I peed myself a little toward the end there.

Fudd and Sanctuary
Jacob always had a complicated relationship with Sanctuary. Although he was almost constantly at war with the W&W he attempted to protect and serve the random commoners of Sanctuary. Although they weren't from his "kingdom" and it wasn't his duty he was hungry for glory and often tried to save random PCs. After he swore an oath to kill Sheriff Greer (which he never managed) he took up the cause of the boy mayor to try to oust the Watchers and Warders from the city. He charged the square with all the others on their quest to rescue the boy mayor, but unfortunately he didn't get very far because BTH beat the tar out of Jacob (I beat him up in real life shortly after). Here's defeated Jacob in a pile of others.

DUELS!!!
Most of my fond memories of Fudd come from the various duels of honor and duels to the death he was involved in. Fudd wasn't afraid to risk life in limb over honor and never turned down a challenge, even if it was an obvious trap, and he wasn't shy about issuing challenges either. I forgot to take screenies of a good few of them, but they made the war against the W&W really entertaining. I never managed to find many watchers or warders as they wandered around, but more often than not they showed up to my public challenges. We'd exchange a few quips and have a huge brawl.

Wyatt always showed up to challenges. He'd escape while yelling things like "This isn't over!" or "Not today, Fudd!" If Fudd had an arch enemy it was Janderson,

Fudd always had a respect for Miriam as the only other person who seemed to share his knightly code of honor. He spent a lot of time trying to woo her into marrying him so King T't't't't't would have a legitimate claim to her lands, the House of Knowledge. When she killed one of Jacob's brothers however duty demanded he seek to bring her to justice! Whoever defeated the other would hold the other's life in their hands, Fudd intended to drag her to the Lowfort and have a trial. Much like most of his other fights, Fudd had his teeth knocked in, thankfully Miriam respected him enough to let him leave with his life.

The Grand Warlock Sperling attempting to defeat Fudd in a duel to arrest him. Eventually they'd become vague allies once Sperling turned against the Order due to Fudd's tolerance of undead.

After many weeks of trying Fudd finally captured Julius Pond! The plan was to exchange him back to Sergeant Pond in return for releasing all Lowersmen held in the dungeons of the watchers' barracks and the Deep Forges. Unfortunately Sergeant Pond couldn't be found, so the two of them shared some wine and fish and Fudd added another key to his collection. He was planning to make a necklace of W&W keys, but he kept losing them as fast as he collected them.

The Treasuries of the Lowfort!
The part you've all been waiting for. The cool stuff I managed to find.

Here's Fudd's armor. The first sign that King T't't't't't noticed Fudd existed. He was a man of few words, but he said something like "You..Good" and then this fell out of him. One of Fudd's prouder moments.

Fudd's armor summoned his loyal sidekick, and comic relief, the Slime Squire. Aka: Oozewald. Oozewald was a sassy little serving boy who didn't know when to keep his mouth shut. Fudd gave up long ago on teaching Oozewald the ways of knightly honor and chivalry, but grew fond of the boy overtime and Oozewald served him loyally, although never lost his smart mouth.

Fudd and his companion Vrog had an epic battle against Aras and the wildlings which I wish I got some screenies of. They tried destroying Floo'glup'something'p and although Fudd failed to defend Floo the King rewarded him for his efforts and gave a long winded speech: "You...Prince". He was crowned by the King and accepted as the son of King T't't't't't.

Fudd collected valuable gems, necklaces, and rings. He wanted to build up a treasury for the Lowfort like a real castle might have. He managed to get a damn fine collection by the end.

Thanks for all the fun times, everybody, I can't wait to see you all on my next character!
Glory to the Lowfort!

Good night, sweet prince.

NothingGoldCanStay

Good knight; saweet prince.

Kinslayer988

Fudd is one of my favorite efu pcs of all time. He was incredible to have as an ally when I played Dermott. A very good example of a lawful pc in a chaotic faction. A true knight, a true friend, and a true ooze man to the end. 10/10!

I've made a T't't't't't character specifically because I loved Jacob as a PC. Enjoyable to interact with. Now having lost my shepard I will go my own path.

A pity he died heirless. So long sweet Prince!
