THE SANCTUARY STADIUM[/font][/b]

Beyond trying to rekindle the Great Game, The Sanctuary Stadium has been vacant for quite some time now so I'm hoping to help change that. It took some doing for IC matters to develop for events to go in that direction but now that the ball is rolling I am hoping to try and spark more interest in getting the old girl up and running again. EFU has a long history of gladiatorial fights with events like the Pissing Crone Fight Night and Pyrimo in EFU:1, EFU:A/M's Garagos Events, and the Pyrimo's return for EFU:R. With Sanctuary's stadium though and the shield removed I think there's a fun potential for PC involvement in action here and abroad.

Mixing together some seedier elements to the world of fighting I'm hoping to cultivate a stable of gladiators to bring amusement and entertainment to Sanctaury like a caravan troupe, then strike out into the Underdark bringing our show on the road.

- A private arena fight on Sorrow Feast island where Sanctuary's finest battle down slaves for the dark delights of denizens.
- The Isle of Lopbloblibop
- Mutulakt
- The Pyrimo
- The Mound of Magnatz
- Fort Mur

While these would all either require DM aid that's far from the focus but just wanted to tease some potential avenues.  Primarily I want to elevate things from simply having people meet up and rumble in the Grotto's arena, or everyone fighting to the death for Intryzz's amusement at the Pyrimo.

What I'm hoping to create:

- A legitimate stable of Gladiators of various classes, levels, RP styles, and means
- Additional supporting roles for PCs to mix things up (Two gladiators fighting while Summons are raised hostile to all, Evocations thrown at the arena, etc by Magi)
- Ecclectic staff with support for their enterprises and rackets (PCs seeking to run gambling for the events, PCs seeking to host smaller events, PC merchants seeking to get involved in selling goods, Treasure Hunters seeking relics as prizes)
- The return of the Great Game be it with our stable of gladiators broken into two teams or the Red and Black teams of the days of old.
- Entertainers and performers for intermission activities
- etc.

Ultimately the goal is to create an atmosphere of moral ambiguity in Upper Sanctuary. Think of it as a counter-punch to the pious Spellbeggar's lane. A seedy Entertainment District similar to the old school Bread and Circus of Rome. Going to the fights but along the way finding an adhoc bazaar of strange and wonderous things with an air of danger.

In full on wrastlin' style though my hope is to try and help PCs become famous or infamous in their own right with Gladiator becoming an actual profession instead of "We're adventurers who are bored can we fight at your event?" as so many events turn into. Not to say audience participation wouldn't be allowed but I really like the idea of reputation and fame and professional fighters putting on a show.

A few concept ideas if anyone is looking:

- Alchemist brewing up all manner of tricks and treats for Gladiators to use to improve show quality

- Ranger scouring the Underdark for the greatest beasts to Train - Not fighting himself but simply having PCs fight his pets

- A Hound Master seeking brutal dog fighting men while he sneers and laughs

- Two hound masters if we really want to piss people off while twirling their mustaches

- Pokemon style Summoner dueling their summons for gambled wagers

- A Drill-Sergeant to whip these new recruit gladiators into shape

- Monstrous creatures to serve as gladiators as a means to gain visitor status

- A knight who has lost his lord and now seeks honorable death by combat in endless challenges

- War Clerics of all sort seeking to statisfy their bloodlust

- Monastic warriors seeking to hone their craft

- Fist-fighitng boxers!

- Circus entertainers be they mimes, jugglers, knife-throwers, etc for intermission fun.

- Shady bookies and merchants to handle the accounts

- Thugs and muscle to collect for the shady bookies

- Thieves and banditos stealing relics from across the realm to offer as prizes

- Corrupt law enforcement dipping a toe into the darkside if the price is right

- Politicians seeking to promote or hinder the games

- PCs to play the roles of Announcers to keep fights entertaining with play-by-play commentary.

Of course as always there's more ideas but these are just a few lose ones off the top of my head.

I just like the idea of a stable of Sanctuary Representated fighters who travel the Underdark battling across the monstrous realms for fame and fortune in monstrous lands for amusement, with the Sanctuary Stadium as their home base for day to day entertainment and otherwise.
