Up the stack limit for potions to 50

As fun as inventory tetris moving stacks of 10 around is, this would be super awesome for pretty much everyone. Easier to manage your inventory, easier for DM's to quickly check and see what a player has supply-wise to balance an encounter, and (most importantly) less lag since the server treats a stack like one object. So less stacks to send data about to a client every time someone loads their inventory pages, less objects to copy when someone dies or gets their pack yanked, and so on...

A quick change to two columns in the baseitems.2da in whatever .hak has it adjusted (whichever one has the new weapons included) will accomplish this.

This would be a very good change.

Or limit it to 1 ;)

I'm going to toss the idea of increasing arrow/bullet/bolt/throwing kives/shurikens/anything I missed that is in the same category stack sizes here as well. I do not really see a downside to this as the weight of items, which is the real limiter in d&d and our lovely nwn, still exists no matter the stack size!

Clearly people have too many potions!!

Realistically this only applies to healing potions.  No one ever needs more than ten of any potion other than healing in a single encounter.  If you do, it's an odd situation and you should adapt or die.  But making healing stack to fifty would be nice.  If the DMs are worried about healing drink contests, just limit it to healing below Serious.  Keep Serious and Critical to 10 per stack.  Though these days it may be suitable to allow further stacking of Serious healing as it seems people are generally higher level these days.

At the very least I suggest making all Moderate Healing and lower stack to fifty.

I don't see the point of your argument here. People would still have the same amount of potions, stacked or not?

VP:  I agree.  I just meant if the DM team wanted to make potion use (particularly endless healing) somewhat limited, this might be a compromise that eases the strain on lower levels who depend on the weaker healings w/o making it easier for high-lvl potion hoarders.  I personally would love all potions to stack to fifty and would be fine with it.

Of course skilled players have and do get by this limitation just fine.  It just seems the limitation must be there for a reason.  If it's not a problem with the DMs, I'm fine with opening it up.
