New Players, Please Introduce Yourself!

Hi!  Though EfU has been going strong for over eight years, new players seem to find their way to our doorstep, looking for adventure.  While our community is well established, we are always happy to welcome new members and want to ensure that they are warmly received and given every opportunity to find their niche in the vast Underdark.

We understand that getting yourself involved in a new community and new game world can be a daunting enterprise, especially in the unforgiving environments of EfU:R.  However, our members, both DMs and Players, are more than willing to do their part to help integrate you into the community.

First, we need to know that you are here!  Many of our players use alternate GSIDs when creating new characters, so seeing a new handle in the game is not a tip off that the player is new to the server.  So we ask you to take a moment and introduce yourself here in this thread.  Let us know the GSID/handle you are going by in game and we'll keep an eye out for you.

Also, feel free to let us know if you find something particularly challenging or if you have questions.

 Looks like I'm starting this off. I'm Lira, migrating in from NWN2 on the recommendation of a few friends who play here. Currently playing Ananfel, a young "civilian" sun elf wizard who's fallen in to the adventuring lifestyle in a misguided attempt to avoid dealing with the troubled relationships he's brought with him to Sanctuary. I'm still settling in to the character and the setting, and the controls and UI are really giving me trouble after playing NWN2 for years, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Current plans include an application to the Society at some point â€" and thanks to Maldread for giving me a hook there - but I'm keeping my options open other than that.
 
 My playing schedule is irregular but tends to be in the afternoons and evenings Pacific time. I work from home so I'm idling in IRC all day if anyone needs to contact me.

Thought I'd introduce myself too,

I played NWN and DnD back five years ago; however, got busy and didn't play! Randomly went on nwnvault to see what's new with it and saw that Border Kingdoms PW and thought it was a perfect time to start up again. Unfortunately, that didn't last long and since then I was told to come here! I like the level of polish of everything, it's very well done. I'm mainly lurking around figuring everything out!

Hurro, folks. I've wandered here to try this server out after hearing good things about it from a fellow named Valo.
 
Been roleplaying for two years on NWN and most of my time I've spent on PotM and more recently; Contrition. Also tried out Border Kingdoms for the short time it was up. Shame it went down as it had nice potential.
 
As for my character Dorvin.. He's an out-for-himself type mercenary character from Sespech.
 
I might not be online as much as I'd like as I've got real life and other commitments to worry about, but nevertheless I'm looking forward to roleplaying with you fine chaps.

My EFU experience began with a Lathanderite priestess that probably goes as far back as EFU-1/2. I skipped over shortly after. However, it is only years after that I began a comparatively more immersive EFU experience. Those of my characters that endured longer would include someone who was caught throwing a flask of alchemist fire towards Zoe Lisette during her speech in the Mistlocke square, a Helmite avenger who died alongside Joeseph Ironside in reversing the curse upon Anti-Mistlocke, and an elven engineer who perished in the last march of the Mistlockians on the threshold between the deeper Bogs and Shylae's tower.

This account is made given the lasting amicable experience between various EFU players, as well as the "generally peaceful" server experience. I hope this account would deepen my involvement in the community and serves to ease the means of communication.
