Custom Loot Cloak - On Hit Effect not working as intended

The cloak has the ability "On Hit: Spell Acid Splash level 4"

Whenever my character is struck in combat this never triggers.

Natalia Mason had a similar issue with her on hit fireball cloak. Seems like on:hit only works if applied to body armor/weapon and never triggers otherwise.

I think this is hardcoded into the game, by default this property isn't able to be applied to anything other than shield/armor and weapons so maybe it only checks those for the props.

Also, OnHit Fireball on a cloak sounds lethal, remind me to encase her in stoneskin to be our tank ©_©

By default the OnHit spell properties were only hard coded to check armor, shield and weapons, I think, since (unless using custom content) the property itself isn't set up to be put on anything else.

Not at home to recheck toolset for that latter half though so could be wrong..

Had a similar issue a long time ago with a belt that was supposed to increase unarmed damage.

Can confirm they do not work on shields either. My PC, Rago Aelen, has a custom loot shield with "on hit knockdown" effect and it doesn't work either.

Would be great to get it fixed/replaced/sorted.... but presuming it's pretty low on the DM list of things to do alas.

The shield property never worked at all and is default NWN thing. However adding "on-hit" on cloak and assorted items is a hak.

Actually I've seen something akin to an on-hit property working on some shields that turn itself into a russet spore. Not sure if it's trully an on-hit reaction or something else.

On Hit - Acid Slash works properly on shields. Eliza had a shield with said function, worked all the time.
