Spell Changes: Poll

Some time ago, many spell changes were made to the existing spell. The target for the changes were spells that we thought were not used very often by players (or NPCs!), mostly because of their marginal usefulness or weak effect compared to other spells. By doing so, the hopes were that players would be considering using and preparing other spells than what have been the typical combinations for questing and PvP in the past for so long.

I also like to stress that the aim of these changes was NOT to make EfU spells or even spell schools perfectly balanced. Some spells and spell schools are stronger for PvP or PvE in many cases, and that is how it will likely always remain. But when we have such a wide variety of spells in our use, it seems like a waste of potential if many of the spells are utterly useless in all situations.

Keeping this in mind, I'd like to hear from you how the spell changes have been received. Have you find yourself preparing and using more often any of the spells that experienced a change a month or so ago? See the poll HERE. Pick multiple options if it fits you but vote only once on each.

Also, you may discuss below about the spells that experienced a change but this is not a thread for discussions about balance or new spell change suggestions.

Thank you! :)

I liked the changes to paladin spells a lot. Havent had the chance to actually try it out. I dont see how it'd help them any since they're already starved for feats. Seems it benefit the mimic sorcerer perk, mostly. Also having to hit lvl 9 on paladin to take GSF transmutation is a huge barrier.

Another thing you guys could take into consideration is that opposing spells could use some love too. For example, Displacement creates an illusion one cast. I think a spell like True Seeing should be able to dismiss those illusions, as true seeing was intended to pierce illusion. but I understand engine limitations here.

The beauty of a wizard is the ability to adapt your style constantly. And although I haven't actively played one for quite some time, I look forward to making use of the changes!

I especially love the changes on: Melf's Acid Arrow, Firewall, Burning Hands, Web, Elemental shield, Gust of Wind.
To a lesser degree I like the changes on: Globe, Mind Fog, Mestil's Acid Sheath.

Admitedly, I used a few of those even before the extra power.

I do believe the mirror images displacement gives needs a rule.
There is nothing as annoying as someone duplicating your character for their amusement and you can't even punch them on their nose because they didn't prepare a DM for an NPC area. (It really is like pick pocket or taunt, a hostile act)

Yes, you can assume that casting a displacement on someone without their permission to be akin to a hostile action, like throwing rotten fruit at them.

Demure

I've been making ample use of grease and web on my Conjuration-specialized wizard! They're minor little perks for those two spells, but it feels good. I do a little bit with Melf's Acid Arrow, too, as she's very... uh, acidicly themed. Haven't noticed much of a difference for the latter, but the former are definitely nice!
