I am not really acknowledged with the mechanics of our PrCs, but the little I heard of it from both inside EFU and outside data, I came out with this idea.

Considering that the initial way to become a shifter would to have some connection with licantrophy, I thought of a posterior way to become one, mixing up two of our current classes: Shifter and Bloodmage.

Think of a mage that drinks the blood of creatures both to enhance and change their own self. Without the blood of the creatures the mage cannot shift, they need to taste it to have the sources of change.

Maybe some kind of blood would be poisonous to the less skilled mage. They would need to develop deeper resistance and digestion in order to tame it and be able to shift into that kind of creature. Failing could bring random results, maybe including death.

This sort of stuff can be RPed with the current tools granted to us with the available classes and spells, but maybe it would be a nifty addition, a new pathway to be sought.

There are many approaches to the Shifter PRC, and the Bloodmage as well. And who's to say you can't be both? The classes of EFU are open to many interpretations, and I think it'd be superfluous to add more perks/PRCs relative to the subject.

A wizard or a sorcerer certainly can become a Shifter. Remember there are no prerequisites to it anymore beyond your own creativity.

As awesome of an achievement shifter is (from what I gather it gets some pretty neat mechanics) I think it would be great to give polymorphing the same treatment that summoning has received. Shapeshifting is a fairly iconic thing for witches and wizards to do, but its both very difficult to access and offers limited variety (5 monsters, plus four disguises). Its lot more risky, and doesn't provide that much more of an effective melee presence, than conjuring.

Messing with the polymorph.2da is a lot more involved than creating new summons. I totally get that!

Maybe a Sorcerer perk that gives earlier access to Polymorph might help bring concepts like this to life? Shifter should be tough to earn, but it often struck me that there should at least be something of a middle ground between a budding transmutater and a true shifter. Sorcerers pursuing this route especially have it tough because they can't really fulfill their concept until 8th level.
