On A Pale Horse

Hviezdoslav Oebarsius, Bone-King, King of Bones, whatever other long winded names he may have earned has finally bitten the dust. He died like he lived, entangled in a mass of sweaty flailing limbs and swords (ha ha). My basic idea with this character was just to set all the various groups and factions of EFU either fighting each other or fighting him, he lived to fight and to spread the cause of war. Over time this sort of developed into his philosophy of making people see the world for what it really was, a burned out husk preparing for the FINAL BATTLE between the Gods of destruction and the forces of Order (Illithid). Hating the causes of law, order and the pretensions of honour, he worked to corrupt any bastions of goodness or exemplars of these talents, attempting to prove to himself and everyone else that if pushed hard enough, everything becomes just as terrible as him.

I had a lot of fun, fought a whole bunch of people in mostly some really classy and interesting conflicts. Kudos to my long term foes and nemeses (special shout out to Ranir Domov for being my druid whipping boy in many fights, on a real though you are rad and keep on being rad). I suppose some thanks must also go to Uxas my perennial tag along and lackey (who was that guy anyway???). There are a bunch more of you out there who helped make this a wild ride and you know who you are so also thanks to you guys for being my partners in crime.

I accomplished a surprising amount, the Ches 6th bombings, corrupting some druid ley sites, cutting out Nivero's eyes. However, my screenshot folder apparently saved nothing so here is a picture of him standing with some thugs having just dropped the hottest mixtape of 2016 (see fire for proof). Feel free to add any you might have snapped.

"The King is dead, Hail to the King, Baby."

Peace out.

Never forget RIP Bone King 2016

Kinslayer988

What already? Awww
The Bone King had an impressive pressence. Was looking forward to getting my revenge on you!

Knight Of Pentacles

Best villain of the chapter so far.  A unique theme, excellent portrayal of that theme, and fearsome on top of it all.  EFU is at a loss without him :[

I hate you Bone King, I hope you know why.

But I also love you.  So confusing.

Demure

Curse your sudden, but inevitable betrayal.

Fantastic necromancer. Greatly enjoyed every interaction when trying to court him to join the Collective, and then the tenuous nature of the alliance that came afterword.

The Old Hack

Alas! A truly great villain. Well done!

Ah man, when you issued that challenge against me all I expected to happen was my defeat followed by possibly some horrible torture and dismemberment. And I would've totally been cool with that at the hands of a true badass. Good job!

zDark Shadowz

A true testament to what a player can achieve given ambition and opportunity. A shame I only saw him dabbling with an accomplice in alchemy, or alone in the wilds with an animated set of bandages.

UrkoNeedsAStiffDrink

Top villain! Nice work.

didn't even bring about the end times 0/10 try again

I was just beginning a speech I'd thought out should I ever defeat you somehow. Turns out the "defeat" was lame and the speech was cut at the very beginning. :/

Coolest villain ever. It can be tricky to make losing fun for the other side, but you did it.

Luke Danger

I remember him when we walked in upon a brawl in the In-Between, then the subsequent Chosen invasion. Both our characters dived in, Kaylee getting her first taste of the Chosen as the Bone King howled "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!" like Khorne incarnate. Unintentional allies against a sudden threat, fighting against the horde and pushing it back until the "Appetite" attacked, both of us getting dropped in that fight. Little did me or my character know that this was a first encounter with what would perhaps be one of the best villains in EfU. And I did get a screenshot of him from that, though sadly it is not the most glorious.

Still, looking back it makes me wonder. How would our characters have interacted had they know what was to come? Sobering thought, really, when you muse back to how far a character has come. From what looked like some random nutter screaming "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD" to one of, if not the, most feared PC on the server.

Unfortunately he and Kaylee never interacted much. Sometimes seeing each other and crossing paths, but neither really interacting. Yet playing Kaylee I felt his presence as he continued to act. Heck, was even rooting for him as he dueled Nivero (admittedly it was of the 'shame they can't both lose' type), and being perplexed as Watchers and Warders did blood games with him despite his actions in the past on the gate.

Then he began to stalk, claiming his turf and I began to try to get the ball rolling on our end to attack his Lair - to defeat him and end his threat, but do so in a way that gave you a chance to let your work building the lair shine and give him a proper end that such a great villain deserves. Alas, that was not to be as fate happened to see you another challenger. Time will tell if the Bone King's last gambit shall pay off.

But he deserved his death to be better than what it was, and for that I am sorry. You deserved far better than what he got with what you had done with the character.

I salute you and your ability to make a great concept, have it work, and then your class in being a villain. I wish you good fortune on your next concept, which I imagine will be as impressive as the Bone King.
