Can't see the server, can't connect.

Last night I started getting severe lag that lasted 10-20 seconds, hit alt+f4 to relog to attempt to fix lag, and ever since I can't connect or see the server.

I've tried resetting router, cable modem, the host PC and a few other small things. So I'm out of ideas on what has caused this or how to fix it. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

Last time I was able to connect was about 10 hours ago or so.

Tried the above, tried client ports 5119 through 5131 to no effect.

Anyone else have any ideas PM me...still not able to get this working.

Full re-installation of NWN, no effect. I only installed the EFU launcher and the base NWN installation to rule out overrides and such.

Still getting the same exact problem of not being able to connect to EFU.

Released and flushed DNS with a reset of the router, modem and PC as per VP's suggestion.

Still getting the same problem.

You have the right address, and you can't simply connect to server?

It's possible the connection IP changed and it lingers for a 12-24 hours before it fully resets and it will not let you connect, if that is the case, nothing you do will help it. That is something that can happen to anyone.

If it's something else, we'll have to look if there is anything we can do, but a single incident makes it quite hard.

Yes, I have the right address. I've also been trying both the EFU launcher (which me not having the right adress would be impossible) and the NWN launcher to rule out the launcher causing a problem. Additionally I use a favorite in NWN client to connect to EFU, so I think the wrong address is unlikely.

Pretty much out of options but to wait, I think. If it's not fixed in a day or two I guess I'll need to figure out something.

If the IP of the server changed, wouldn't that affect everyone though?

Your Ip, Vlaid. You do not have a static IP unless you pay for it.

When it changes at times, it may cause inability to log into the server if you've been booted out of it when it happened. That just requires you to wait until it clears.

Vlaid

Ah....that would make a lot of sense. I think my IP changes early in the morning when that lag spike hit me, possibly.

Resolved. Seemed to be the IP, just unplugged the router and cable modem for a while and it assigned a new IP.
