Five years ago or so, after Dark Age of Camelot, I swore off MMORPGs. I played Everquest for years, but hated myself for it afterwards. I played DaoC on and off, and it was fun, but I'm done with it. I even tried EVE for a few weeks. The only other quasi-MMORPG I played was Planetside. Oh. My. God. It was probably the most fun I've ever had, raiding and warring across a country with my Clan, one that almost exclusively used tanks and heavy armor (and the engineers to fix them in combat!) to decimate whole field armies... well, that's how I think MMORPGs should be.

After spending an hour looking at Darkfall I have seriously changed my opinion about what an MMORPG can offer. For those of you who don't feel like looking around, this game will play like Oblivion but without classes (skills get better when you use them!) and with a nearly Real-Time Strategy feel to it. Although DHV doesn't really appeal to me, thanks Echigo for showing this to me! If I end up getting this game and roll up the Mahirim (werewolf hybrid-styled race) I'm already excited about making, then I look forward to squaring off with you in the future!
