At the Shipwreck Portal, you start out at level 4, with 50 gold and a number of potions. The Stargazers start off at level 4 with only a few gold and a number of potions, but with a special weapon and armor. The native portal, unless it's changed recently (the description says otherwise), starts you off at level 3 with citizenship, and nothing else.

Seeing as how citizenship is so easy to gain (just requires swearing an oath), would it be possible to make it so that being a native gets you the same potions and level as a shipwreck survivor? The "special merchant" the natives get gives 100% basic armor, none of it better than 4/4, so that alone is not a good enough perk.

You might say "just go with what fits your character concept," but why should shipwrecks who supposedly JUST LOST EVERYTHING be so much better supplied and stronger than someone who has lived in Mistlocke a while? I'm not saying take away the potions, they're vital given how most of the low level solo quests that give supplies are gone (scavenging, ghouls, etc.) or not easily accessible (marching dead), and how difficult it is to reach those that are still around (crossbreeds and undead making the puppet spider, mushroom grove and stirges quest dangerous to get to without those invis potions shipwrecks start with).

While I disagree that starting off native is in any way difficult for anyone who has been playing here for even a few months, I agree it would be helpful to have a few consumables to start with, if different from the shipwreck start.

I have to agree, entirely.

Should be an incentive, aside from just pure RP purposes.

Maybe it's just preferred that people arrive than have been living in mistlocke doing nothing all this time? Seems to be a more probable way to start an adventuring character.

When one option is given incentive over another it's usually a hint as to what option would be better to choose in most cases.

Kotenku

As long as we're suggesting great ideas, can the Equipment shop in the starting area please get 10-stacks of cure minor wounds potions for sale? It would save an enormous amount of time for, I'm sure, quite a lot of people.
