As the name implies, these nuisances are easily spotted by their distinctive red markings along the thorax and are capable of scalding a man to the bone with ignited saliva spewed from its head. Without a doubt one of the favored prey of opportunistic alchemists, their stomaches are highly prized for their flamable capabilities.

Equally curious is their tendancy to burn themselves, one would imagine such a being literally spewing fire would have developed in time a means to preserve itself. Moreso I suppose we are all fortunate as they are able to harm themselves or their peers with the flame, as such a colony of firespewing insects would grow into monstrosities if uncannibalistic.[/font][/b]

A black coil of reptilian Ymphian death, the Island Black cobra is a malicious and streamlined deliverer of death. Nesting in clutches up to hundreds in moist environments, the Black Cobra of Ymph is one of the most fearsome presences to a lone traveler. Its sharpest of bites is able to tear through even magical enchantments, its venom can cripple a man in a matter of moments, and it is capable of laying low a herdbeast in seconds.

These competencies has left the Cobra hunted across the island by many would be murderers, for their poison if collected can be easily coated upon the blade and bring such brutal talents to any sentient being cunning or mad enough to try and handle such a dangerous toxin.[/font][/b]

Perhaps one of the most magnificent creatures I have ever had the privileged honor to gaze upon, the Ymphian White stag in its magnanimous presence and ethereal beauty is without comparison. It is said in ones lifetime on Ymph there are two assurances: That they shall die and that they shall more likely than not miss the opportunity to gaze upon this wonderous creature.

When it walks the very forest itself gets out of its way as to not impede its path, when it runs it is with the fluidity and grace of the Great Falls of Ymph. When it dies one must take all precaution to ensure that the greedy, the craven, or the superstitious are able to clutch their mystical antlers for selfish gains and ensure they are returned to nature.[/font][/b]

[tface=callig]C[/tface]ave [tface=callig]B[/tface]ear

One of the expectantly greatest threats to the Ymphian mountain climber! The Cave Bear of Ymph is revered by stargazer, human, and even H'bala in her conquest to eradicate all life on the isle. With a thunderous roar, a terrible presence of raw primal fury dwells within the high reaches of Ymph. Dwelling typically in solitude the Ymphian Cave Bear is primarily found along the Great Falls and the vast cavernous systems of the Prophet Peaks. It is without peer in its blatant strength and it once ruled the mountain without predation.

In the wake of the Maiden's release and the destruction of many herbivore, this omnivorous predator has taken to the eating of flesh wherever it can be found. Equally it has been driven to fend off roaming bands of Ogre, Orc, and more who see the large creatures as meals to feed their tribes for days without withering. A cruel example of the Maiden's disruption of all things, Humanity could learn well from the symbol that is the bear. A once proud creature turned to a brutal and bloody, typically shortened life.[/font][/b]

[tface=callig]F[/tface]ire [tface=callig]G[/tface]iant

In gazing upon a Prince of Noor, a Fire Giant reclaiming its territory I was gifted to the awesome power contained within the red sinew. An elf it felled with a single blow, grinding its bones beneath a heel. A human it swatted as if it were less than a fly, a once proud warrior crumpling beneath its hammer as if a mountain had fallen upon it.

Supremely proud and in many cases deservedly so, it seemed to revel in the situational shift- For those who were once hostile were put in their place and in their place Humans are eager to grovel, kowtow, and appease those they perceive as a superior species. A larger variation of the common Hill Giant, the Fire Giant is said to be a form of genasi, an elemental giantkin capable of great fortitude in the hostile environments of the high peaks of volcanoe or the deep maws of the earth where it is not stone but flame that rules.[/font][/b]

[tface=callig]D[/tface]etrivore [tface=callig]S[/tface]ea [tface=callig]S[/tface]lug

A nuisance in small numbers and a death sentance in a colony, the Detrivore Sea Slug is a scourge of the depths. Feasting upon anything that moves and that it can discern from plantlife the slugs are quick to swarm and spew a potent venom.

This venom, upon contact with the skin of the living is able to poison the flesh and clog the pores, placing the sentient into a mild coma. The strongest of beings are able to struggle against these comatose effects but the less fortunate are left to drown, food for the slug.[/font][/b]

Hard metal like chitin adorns this arachnids carapice and is at times prized by tribal beings to construct armor or weapons from the hide peeled away, often indiscernable from steel itself.

Eight bladed appendage give this spider its name, capable of carving through flesh as if it were the simplest of silks and able to chop limbs from a fleeing foe with expedient ease[/font][/b]

[tface=callig]G[/tface]iant [tface=callig]S[/tface]pider

Aggressive, nightmarish predators, giant spiders first trap their prey within their webs. As the flesh is bound and one is unable to move the creature delights in sadistic pleasures that would make Lolth herself squirm. Its chittering is said to reach an almost sexually climactic shriek as it scutters about its webbed foes before eventually drawing down upon them.

They  then subdue them with poisonous venom, often praised and lauded by Talonites and assassins the world over as one of the most effecient and proficient means to immobilize a threat... if one is clever of crafty enough to survive collecting it.[/font][/b]

[tface=callig]P[/tface]hase [tface=callig]S[/tface]pider

Phase spiders are aggressive predators that can 'phase' back and forth between the material and ethereal planes. At times called Gypsy Spiders, they are viewed as mocking incarnations of the notion that Gypsy seers are able to see into the far ethereal realms, the astral domains, and send both message and sense presence.

The difference of course being that the attacks of these magical creatures can be very disconcerting. To one moment be present and one moment vanish they are reminiscent of the mist beasts that stalk the depths of Ymph's mistcovered regions.[/font][/b]

[So swiftly moving, not able to capture or pursue in live captivity for a suitable sketch to be made]
[tface=callig]H[/tface]unting [tface=callig]S[/tface]pider

One of the fastest arachnids upon Ymph, only rivaled by the monsterous Drider for speed, the Hunting Spider is said to cannibalize its own young out of sheer spite for existence, before tracking down any spider it is able in a delicious second course. Should it be unable to find said course it shall begrudingly pursue small morsels such as Ogres and other massive prey that one would not anticipate a spider pursuing.

When one is gifted with such brutal speed, potent venom, and the threshold of pain to hack off limbs and continue the hunt the rules do not oft come into concern or dispute. If one sees a hunting spider there is little point in running as it can outrun you for sheer spite.[/font][/b]
