The only hostage situations that seem to work from my experience, are the ones where they have captured one of your lads, and you go out and grab one of theirs and do an exchange.

I once captured a musterman, then got killed/captured and my buddies traded him for me.

Nothing like making your own insurance policy.

Whenever I take hostages, I end up getting rid of them, so they can't ID me later.
